Another corker, Donny 👍. Winter wild camping is just the best in my opinion. When waking up to a cold, clear and crisp morning when it’s a few degrees below outside your tent, and you’re nice and snug and toasty in your down bag, just cannot be beaten.

I have been doing a few camping trips now Captain..and enjoyed them..but it was a bit too busy on the loch this easter weekend..so home until the weather dries a bit and tourists start to go home again..i enjoy the peace and quiet :-D

Oh , I took your advice and bought those Lomo boots ...they are perfect ! They are all you said and delivery was supper fast. Hi Donny, Thanks for posting, great to see that end of the Loch I've never been there before. I camp at the head mostly. Planned on changing that last week. I Drove up at night with my kayak and in the morning the river was frozen stiff. A winter wonderland for sure. I waited for it to thaw so I didn't need to carry it 50m....It never thawed oh well next time.

Yea the loch was frozen a few times this year Bill..bit its lovely just now..although quite busy with easter tourists :-D

Hi mtm101 designs..yup ..the chair is expensive but I should have bought one years ago as I spent more on cheaper options that didnt last. I know three people bought this chair 15 years ago and still use regularly today .. so it saves money on the long run. Im still delighted with mine too :-D Thanks also for the kind comments on my videos..appreciated :-D

Good stuff Donny, well done. I have the same chair & I have actually fallen asleep in it more than once, worth every penny as you will get plenty of use out of it. You probably have a fleece suit under your dry suit, they're great for kipping in too. I've signed all sorts of things this week, , so hope to be up up there soon.

had a bumpy ride home on Loch Etive last year, it was fun but had to slow down. going diagonally across the chop makes it a bit better for sure.

Been up the loch a few times lately Scott and had a bumpy journey home..im hoping the wind is not following the same windy pattern as last year. But also had some nice calm days too ..so cant complain :-D

A word of advice to you winter boaters out there. If temperatures are likely to drop to freezing during the night, make sure to leave your outboard (lower end) in the water or in an vertical position to allow the water to drain completely as there is a risk of damage if water left in the cooling pipe etc freezes. Perhaps the engine on the little Guppy was indeed drained before lifted upwards as seen 17 minutes into the video. If not, you might have been very lucky there Donnie. I was out this weekend here in Sweden and indeed the lake froze over the night. Fortunately I had picked up on this advice by reading the manual to my brand new outboard and left it in the water.

A good mat and a down bag make a big difference nothing worse than freezing your ass off all night Nature hike do a cheaper version of the helinox chair that I really like. Keep charging Donny few more years left in ya with a bit of luck😎😀😀

Inspiring as always, so thank you so much Donny for yet another beautiful video. I do admire you for the wild camping in such cold conditions...I cannot take the cold, so avoid such extremes, but as Spring is with us now I am looking forward to getting my SIB waterborne very soon. A few trips on Loch Lomond, then up to Loch Sunart for some real adventures! I hope to visit Ardnamurchan Point and Sanna Bay, then take the trip across the Sound of Mull to Tobermory. Having just bought my first air floor 3.2m inflatable boat with a little 2.5hp engine, I'm thinking these could be the best vids I have ever seen :D . The Roger Barnes of inflatables and Scotland :). I learned to sail last year and instantly got bored going round in circles on a reservoir. Now this is something I want to do, both motorised and under sail. The tidal advice is well taken.
