Today i have made a short comedy film on the Scottish Snowmageddon called the beast from the east. From building snowmen to sledging the scottish took to the snow like a duck to water. Scotland didnt survive the beast from the east. The beast from the east survived Scotland. This was scotland snow storm that became a blizzard called storm emma that ground public transport to a halt.

Ours was a beast from the west, in the middle of April, 24 - 36" of snow, sleet and ice. A few days later it was 70°F and everything melted and went back to normal. Hasn't happened since 1902. Three days of complete blizzarding chaos.

everyone pulling together,,,,helping old people,the old people next door or across the road by getting them milk and bread and helping clear there driveway,,,everyone in my street teaming together on day 2 to clear the street to the main road and helping each other dig there cars out,,,me going to work on day 3 driving my bus to help try and get bus services up and running,,never seen people so glad to see me,,,helping drivers that had been stuck for hours,,giving them food and water,,helping tow cars to a place of safety and letting people use my phone to let family know they were ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it was a real test for everyone,,,worst snow in a long time north of Glasgow,,,3ft in my driveway and around 18inch in the street of drifting snow,,,,a real ice age experience,,,,,to think some parts of the world get this every winter,,,,,give me Scotland any time.

Fife council just gave up and didn’t do anything. Locals Including a few friends were driving around in 4x4s helping people out and doing lifts and then the Farmers started turning up which then forced the council out to help

One day during the snowstorm, we ran out of bread. Our car wouldn't start and I was the only one at the time with shoes on. Three guesses what I was told to go and do. I trudged throw snow that was up to my ankles for what must have been about half an hour to the nearest Co-op, only to see someone take the last bit of bread from the opposite end of the store. They wouldn't get their next batch till the succeeding morning.

Thanks man. Now I know where it comes from. I live in North Carolina and we rarely get much snow. Let there be even a whisper of a snow storm and there's a run on milk, bread and bologna. Now, if a hurricane is coming, you can't find a bottle of water anywhere and we meme it off course.....at least that's what happened with Hurricane Florence.

Batchy, Although the Beast from the East has passed and now we have "Mini Beast" on the way! I can't claim ownership of this poem but it sums up Scotland in the face of adversity!! and it's sung to the tune of "Flower of Scotland" No flour in Scotland! When will we see Sliced bread again? No Mother's Pride for Your wee bit piece and jam No cheesey toasties (fur who?) Our tartan army Just pictures of empty shelves Aye, blink again! Those days are past now But icy blast, it may remain But we might still drive (how?) Tae get tae Asda again And stand in queues there (whit fur?) Our milk, breid an whisky, And carry them homewards Tae drink again..... I don't know if Irun brew sold out in Falkirk or if the Kelpies fared in these conditions, but I wish you the best of luck with round 2 coming!
