Graham is my direct ancestor! My brother is James Robert Graham the 40th?.. or something..nobody knew why the first boys were always James Robert, until my daughter's hobby became a deep genealogy dive. NE OBLIE !!!

After 600 years, of reproduction every 20 years or so, the volume of cousins alive today, is a staggering number. in fact, it would be difficult to find someone in Scotland whom was not a descendent. If you were to look for someone not a descendent of Campbell or Graham, that would be less then 1% of the Scottish population.

Thanks for that. Very interesting. My great grandmother was a Graham, married a Scott, and the name Graham has been passed down as a forename in the family ever since (including my son & grandson).

@@TingTingalingy I had to start on ancestry but I’m sure there’s other genealogy websites that would Provide the same service. Then you need to find common ancestors and any documentation like marriage certificates, baptisms etc and that can help find more relatives.

I’m a 12th great granddaughter to Sir James Graham and Magdalene Carnegie. There is a micronation I leaned about on Tiktok that was founded by descendants of Sir James Graham, it’s called Grahemia. I think it’s really just a concept and the love they have for their ancestry.

Hey do you have any links to Grahemia? I've read many books on Montrose, they have given me inspiration during some tough times. You have strong ancestry :)

Another example of how great men of war are tools of polity and purpose wielded by the real actors of power. Soldiers do suffer the consequences of their command, even today, and it is severe but that's what makes the military stand.

When ever there's a Campbell at the head of your rising, you may win as they are the biggest turn coats known to History, but you're definitely on the wrong side. Graham was a true Scottish hero.

Scottish history, post 1500, is a series of events, that were manipulated by England. (lol). Archibald Campbell, was granted another clans daughter for marriage, and the rights to scotland, even though, she was a toddler, and no one in the other family consented, in 1499-ish. 6 or 8 Campbell's died, abducting the child, which they later raised, and married into the family, to turn the Campbells into disputed royalty. Clearly, the King, should be proud of that move, causing clan wars, without it costing England much at all. You would not be talking about this Archibald Campbell (1607, 1661), were it not for the prior, that put the linage in the Royal category. I wonder if we have underestimated the evil genius of the prior kings of england.
