Why would anyone give a thumbs down to this video the hard work that Craig and Nichole put in to make their content informative and they are so friendly . Lots of people making videos to just cash in and being stupid but this is historical and very well made 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 they always are thanks guys 😀

Thank you so much, Lynn! We put the work in that we do because you let us know that it is worth doing it. It has made such a difference to us to find a friendly, enthusiastic, and encouraging community here, especially at this time. And, knowing that the videos have brought a wee bit of calm into the world is both humbling and just amazing! I can't really get my head around the way a hater thinks - it seems to me that a thumbs down before a video has shown can't be anything else. Thank you so much for this comment - big virtual hugs - :D xo

Hello Nicole and Craig, lovely footage and fantastic finds - sea chickens are rare finds! I only ever had the feathery kind in my garden! Thank you for collecting and removing fishing wire and hooks, so dangerous for wildlife. Loved your other finds, the glass was frosted in more ways than one, a very cold day! Very enjoyable viewing. Hi! I'm always happy to see a couple of hobbiests peddling away picking up bits of seaglass, stones, pottery shards and the never ending amount of beads you folk seem to find!! Must be a great feeling to get out in the fresh air, and to idle happily up and down a local beach. I must admit I wish you would do more crafts and jewellery with your finds. I find your videos very relaxing, and they never fail to help me destress, especially as we are in Lockdown at present. You gentle burr reminds me so much of my Uncle Dixie, he was very soft spoken, with a gentle rolling Scots accent that sounded quite musical to me as a child. I could spend many happy hours with my Aunt and Uncle as they gardened and beach combed near their home. Though he lived most of his adult life in the North of England, his accent remained the same. Stay safe.. ❤️👍😊

Thank you so much! Such a lovely comment... It is such a lovely thing to be able to do these videos and its also really great, and humbling, to know that they are openeing a wee window for others when its really needed. Difficult times we hope end soon. Its always nice to brng up a good memory - its sounds like an idylic time you spent with your aunt and uncle. Oh! There will be a wee craft section in next weeks video, and we have been speaking about trying to make them a more regular feature - we shall see what we can do to make that happen if we can! Stay safe and well! xo

And YES🙌🏻🙌🏻, you got to visit your "beach of envy" 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. What a special shoreline of treasures(albeit a bit frosty 🥶 that day). There's nothing like bundling up and being outside at the beach in the fresh bracing air☺️. Your little chicken is just so sweet 🥰, and sea worn to perfection 👏🏻👏🏻!!! Most definitely a new place to frequent, with beads and pottery and parrots and bottle stoppers ...and that superb ✨star✨shard of glass🙌🏻👍🏻. Great that you were able to get out after so long , frost and all, speaking of frost I remember as a child it being on the inside of the windows it had the most amazing leaf pattern, love the elephant cockerel 😁 , some really nice finds I wonder if the little cockerel was part of a farm yard set🐓🐔🐥, take care xx

Aside from filming, we're in a LOT, so it really was great to feel the fresh air and have the luxury of so much space - so fortunate to have that. Oh! I remember the days before central heating - we had a two bar electric fire for, what seems like forever! I have similar memories... we had some pretty thick ice on the inside of the windows when it got really cold! Oh, a combi boilers! What a wonder they are! It could easily be from a farm set - other suggestion is that it may be an old cake decoration... We're still trying to find a close match to the one we found online! Thank you co much! Stay safe and well. xo

Thank you so much... It is so important to us - we have been isolating since March 2020! I think you have seen the update in the description, so you know the measure we go to to be safe and responsible. Its such a difficult time, and it means so much to us that a lot of people are finding some relaxation in them - I have to say, its helping us keep positive spirits too! It was a great day, and, yes! that cockerel!! :D Blushing now! We'll keep it quiet! ;-) That's really lovely, thank you so much! xo

Once again a lovely video thanks so much for the history and your enthusiasm! For us here in Central Oregon, the frost, as aggravating as it is to humans and animals, provides what is called "frost heave" and when thawing in the Spring the soil swells and bursts apart in clumps. So basically it throws up things to find that were previously under the surface, like arrowheads and shards of arrowheads, & geodes & fossils. BTW I had no doubt Nicole was going to get that swing bottle stop out of the "tundra" there.. once seen, cannot....leave..... Next step get the tire iron out of the car... :)

Craig and Nicole another stunner I absolutely enjoy waiting and watching your Friday night video's. @scottishmudlarking4 жыл бұрын
Great, as always, to read your comment - so incredibly generous, thank you so much. So sorry to hear that your health is keeping shielding! We go to some pretty remarkable lengths to be safe, and its great that we can open a window or a door to, as you say, let a wee bit of that outside into your place. I think I may have said this before, but, at the expense of repeating... we really did not know what to expect when we started this up, and it has meant so much to us to find a community that is so positive, enthusiastic and encouraging - I can't really say how much it has meant to us. We have not met with anyone (not even family) since March 2020, the contact we can feel through doing this has been warming to the soul and it has helped keep me going... To know that, even a little of that, has been shared with you and others through this channel is just remarkable, humbling and affirming in so many important ways... Thank you so much, an aye! Lang may yer lum reek! Craig & Nicole xo

Hi Nicole & Craig, great video, really enjoy your beautiful work. For some reason though I kept worrying that the tide was coming in to fast, it seemed like it was on 3 sides at once, I know you know what your doing I'm just being an old biddy. Always such a pleasure and Thanks.
@scottishmudlarking4 жыл бұрын
Hi, that's so kind, thank you so much! It certainly does look that way, and it almost is like that on this shore... there is a 'hump' in the middle of the shore here and the tide fills in around it... A little further towards the bridges, there is also a low point that fills in faster than the areas around it and could lock off the exit - so, yes, you're spot on, and its always well worth knowing and keeping a close eye on the exits here! :D So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! :D xo

@scottishmudlarking4 жыл бұрын
Oh! We saw that video - there are a couple of differences that you might interesting: Gail used what looked to me like a glass grinder to shape that piece - conventionally glass grinders are used by stained glass artists to create hard to cut shapes! We found this piece just as you see it, its been shaped by the sea! :D There is another, very hard to see difference. The piece we found is called 'spongeware', the piece Gail used is printed differently, it is called transferware! We have a video discussing the these types, which were made in huge amounts in this part of Scotland, and elsewhere too. Very cool! :D Thank you so much! Hope that was interesting. :D

I could really feel your joy, Nicole, you put a big smile on my face. What type of rig was that Craig? in the distance. Oh my, it never gets that cold here in Perth, our temperature at the moment is hovering in the high 30's each day. Nicole, do you make brooches? I think some of those bigger pieces of blue ware would make lovely brooches. Take care and stay well, Kind regards Dena.

It was so nice to get across to that shore and well worth the wait! Really great finds! :D Oh! The rig... its such a shame, but, for many years now, oil rigs are brought into the River Forth to 'rest' during fluctuations in demand. I think four or more are in just now. I remember Perth being very hot and dry, with beautiful sunsets! :D I've never made broaches - interesting! Thank you so much, stay safe and well - our very best wishes from Scotland, Craig & Nicole
