We're back! All rested and ready for more beach adventures and treasure hunting!
This week, and next, we are taking you on a journey around the Fife Coastal Path - its a world famous walking route which meanders through some of the most beautiful countryside anywhere!
Today, we begin a short distance East from the official start of the path, in the Fife Village of Torryburn! We move onto Charlestown & Limekilns before we stop for the day in North Queensferry, where we met up with ‪@NorthernMudlarks‬ last year. Next week, we visit four more locations on our way around the Fife Coast, stopping in each to revisit what the beaches have to offer - its a fantastic assemblage of sea glass, swing-top, vulcanite and glass, stoppers, rare ceramics, pottery and a host of beachcombing treasures!
The coastal path opened in 2002 and stretches for 116 miles as it winds its way through old ferry towns, fishing villages, harbours; it wanders past, Pictish caves, sites of Victorian industry and places of pilgrimage. Every step offers more stunning sights and a host of wee nooks and crannies to explore or take a wee break in!
Some parts of the route are harder to get to than others - we've climbed more than a few walls and crossed too many fields to mention... but rest assured, we will do the hard work for you and let you sit back and enjoy the places we visit along this incredible route.
We will return to our normal schedule on the 28th January, but we will revisit the path on the last Friday of each month until we complete our guide around the route that joins two of Scotland's great rivers - the Tay, where you can cross into Dundee, and the Forth, where you can cross into Edinburgh!
We are often asked where we go, so, this is our way of guiding you to a few of our favourite stops along the Fife Coastal Path!
We hope you enjoyed today's video... Thank you so much!

Oh yes that certainly might have been the brewery! It's always nice to have some lettering on the pieces, so it gives you the possibility to research and see how old the piece is...Thank you!

Thank you so much, and Good question! There are a fair number of shipping containers under the North shore cantilever of the bridge, and it looks like a few caravans alongside them. They or others have been there for as long as I can remember, and I have always thought (without knowing for sure) that they had something to do with the never ending work that takes place on the bridge - now I have to find out - we'll have to go back along! :D Best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo

Hi, Donald Wilson here in Tacoma, Washington State, USA. Just came upon your video this afternoon. This is so cool to find you very close to where my family (Wilson's) come from; Dunfermline, Bathgate, Linlithgowshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh areas. My great, great grandfather, James Andrew Wilson, born 1825 in this area, came to America in 1862 and then two James's later found there way to Tacoma from Kansas. Actually, there are 14 James's before great, great grandfather. WOW! Other Scottish relatives are Stirling and Beveridge. I look forward to more of your video's. Kindest Regards, Donald William Wilson.

Hi Donald, thank you so much for watching and getting in touch! That's very interesting - that must have been some journey back in 1862! Its a small world... my paternal grandmother was from Bathgate, and my paternal grandfather was from Edinburgh. You would certainly hear your name all around Scotland - you could go most places and find Wilsons nearby. Interestingly, the name Beverage is marked in one of the places we visited - there is a Beverage Park, in Kirkcaldy. Your family names are still very well represented here :D Best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo

What a great idea for a series! I’d love to walk along the Coastal Path someday. Loved the little car! You had such colorful finds today- so many shades of blue, the tiny yellow piece, amberina, black glass, and that lovely large piece of pink glass! I think that the tiny white bouquet was my favorite. Craig, your history of fairy lights was so interesting! What gorgeous examples you showed us! The advertisements were almost comical, playing on the fears of people at that time. But I’m guessing that those fears were real. Thank you for another fun and relaxing stroll along the Scottish shore. I look forward to these so much! Take care, stay well, and enjoy your week! 🙏❤️

So glad you like it - we hoped it would help answer a few questions and be a fun way of looking at the places around us! :D Some of those spots further away from us have some great colours!! We must get back along - the wee bouquet was such a sweet wee thing! Yes! You are absolutely right about the advertising! Amazing to sell a product both as an anti-theft product and, at the same time, a delight to treat your friends and brighten your home! They are very lovely things though! :D Thank you so much, best wishes for a great week ahead! :D Nicole & Craig xo

Thanks for doing this! I've often wondered if there are interesting things to find on every UK beach, and it's just a matter of how many or how "good" the items are. Would you say this is true? Or are some places substantially less interesting?

Thank you for coming along - its a fun wee way of answering a few questions and, we hope, giving you a better sense of the place... That's a really good question and one we have thought we could say more about. There are places that excel in one thing or another - some places seem to attract shells, others have lots of glass etc. sometimes its obvious why. Then there are places with virtually nothing man-made - we have been to places where traveling in one direction along a shore, we find lots, go the other way, smelly seaweed and not much else! Oh! Long answer - short answer is, yes, some places are a lot more interesting than others in terms of what you can hope to find. Best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo

Hello Ilona! Happy New Year!! Hope its a great one for you and yours! We're so glad you have come along on our wee adventures and enjoyed them with us! :D We would love to do more of the history sections - they are so incredibly time consuming to put together! We are considering alternatives to the slides - they take the most time to track down and clear copyright on - but we do want to bring them back either weekly or perhaps bi-weekly. :D Very many thanks for the encouragement! :D Very best wishes to you and yours, Nicole & Craig xo
