I'm English and I love this song. I am glad Scotland are still part of GB, and I'm proud to stand with them as a British Citizen. I love Scotland and this song should not be about the lyrics, the same way that I sing to my anthem but despise the Royal Family. It's about being proud of your heritage and who you are, but it does not mean we have to hate others, especially for things that happened hundreds of years before. I love England, I love Scotland, and I'm glad we are still united. And I will continue to like this anthem (more than my own).

The lyrics will stay the same as Flower of Scotland was written by a band in the 1960s and they will have the copyrights. Scotland is a nation built on great inventions and ideologies like the telephone, the bank of england(yes the bank of England the second oldest central bank) bicycles, the television(and colour tv), the christmas tree(yes im serious) the three colour method(colour photos) the decimal fraction, the first ever world cup, the flushing toilet, Golf, Halloween, Hypodermic syringes, we gave birth to james watt who paved the way for the industrial revolution, the kelvin scale,The king james bible, The microwave, penicillin,raincoats, radar, artificial refrigeration, the founder of the us navy john paul jones. The point i am trying to make is that its one thing to be ignorant but its another to deem a whole country built on self pity when in my personal opinion Scotland is one of the most contributional and successful countries in the era, with a solid economy which would have only got stronger with our independence and secured our own future as a country which would no longer be forced participate in disgusting campaigns against innocent country's by a capitalist group of power hungry nations in the eu and america with a money making agenda with only the 1% in mind. I have the utmost respect for our English, Welsh and Irish brothers and sisters but people need to wake up and realise that colour religion and borders have no place in our personal prejudice's as we are all human and that's the way we should all see it but sadly th world is not as clear cut as that, we will always have the ignorant who will seek to keep people down, i sincerely hope you can wake up and have a certain respect for all countries, people, and religions and change your ways.
