Me, born, grew up, and still reside on the Central West Coast of California, Eddie and the Hot Rods are one of my many favorite English bands, and I always wanted to see them in concert when they released their debut album "Teenage Depression". This live performance of them on January 22nd, 1977 was just one day before my 21st birthday.

Teenage Depression opened the 11th November 1976 Top of the Pops. I remember it well as everyone at school was talking about it the next day as it was deemed 'punk rock'. Sadly the episode has been wiped so it is great to see the performance here. Chicago were number one with 'If you leave me now'.

How overlooked the Hot Rods' first two albums are. They had the perfect point between 60s stuff like the Who, early powerpop, the energic R&B 70s as dr. Feelgood and , of course, 77 punk rock. They actually got a bunch of anthems!

@@CIMAmotor i knew you'd answered that . to me not the same : Irish , Scottish , and English Music gave birth to Bluegrass during colonisation , and Country Music later on that gave birth to traditionnal Rock'n'Roll ( Elvis , Vincent , Cochran and all the others Greats ). You will object : what about the Blues ? and i will agree that Blues is a purely American thing but i hear more Country than Blues in traditionnal Rock'n'Roll.
