Awesome video Scott. I particularly liked the reflective scene in the liquor store windows! I see the pictures at the end of all the melted reflectors and light covers on the apparatus pieces closest to the fire. I was wondering about that when they parked so close! Live and learn.

Why not just call the owner of the carwash to open the bay doors? No, they love to try out their Sawzall on someone else's property. I've had cops kick in a solid core door when I could have brought a key from one mile away.

Mr. Obvious here, probably the responsibility of the placement of the appartus, should be owned by the officer of the rig or the driver. Never under estimate the amount of heat of a fully involved fire.

I just watched a KZbin video that appeared in my recommends and I’m not sure why..but it was titled simply Boyd St, and because I used to live in a Boyd St I clicked on it. It was one of the most fascinating and traumatic things I’ve ever watched. It was all about Engine 9 of the LAFD and the unpredictable circumstances they found themselves in on a call out to a fire in downtown LA. I have nothing but the deepest respect for all the FF’s out there who consistently put themselves in harm’s way in order to protect the community and property.

Gee, I wonder how much sheet rock was up in this building? I'm betting none. Really stupid way they build these wooden structures these days. A migrant plumber comes by and does work by himself at night as his third or fourth job. You get a fire almost every time. It should be illegal to put up more than a certain number of square feet of fuel (wood, 2X4) without putting up sheet rock. That is the rock's job - fire stop! This construction is done this way to save money by not having two different crew types working at the same time. 2X4 goes up first. Once all is up, then they do plumbing and maybe electrical rough in, then do the sheet rock. Also shouldn't be eligible for fire insurance.

Why are we using so much water: The lake is empty: you have to conserve water. Just protect the exposures and let it burn out.
