It's absolutely clear that this guy did NOT spend more than 30 seconds looking at the manual...or even cleaning himself in the shower. I'm a newbie at cooking, and this Miele oven was a godsend. I wonder how many "years" it took for him to transition from the flip phone to the smart phone. He probably still rocks a pager....

Wow, rough day and go with the Miele. I have a newer version and absolutely love it! This oven is not perfect, and yes, there is a learning curve, but its flexibility and versatility are unmatched in my experience. We only use our range to cook a large meal for the whole family. Regarding the water and condensation containers and the frequency of filling/emptying the containers, it all depends on what you're doing with the oven. If you're steam cooking, you must fill it with water and empty it. If you find that annoying, you can opt for the plumbed version. If you're using it throughout the day, it will stay on you about rinsing, but you don't have to do it each time; turn it off with the power button. Many Miele appliances have glass and piano black finishes, so they will be covered in fingerprints. After using it, I wipe the front of it with a wet microfiber towel.

I have the Combi-Steam and absolutely love it! I find it incredibly simple to use. If something I want to cook is not listed on the panel I just estimate the time and add steam if I choose. I also have been using the sous vide function. Which is also simple when you know the basics. Highly recommend. Our friends got one on our recommendation and now they are getting one for their summer place they love it so much. You do have to use it to for a bit but then .... I almost never use my Wolf oven.

I do not want to be rude, but watching your video, it appears that the problem mainly stands in front of the oven. You are tipping nervously on the panel with very dirty fingers (are you dipping them in pure grease?) and wondering that it does not work. The inside of your oven is just disgusting. Miele kitchen parts are great quality, but they will not help if you lack basics. Maybe the following can help you: calm down and do the things in the correct order, maybe starting by cleaning your hands, the inside of your oven and the residue-water tank. Then read your documentation, even if it is generic, there will be loads of information in there. Do you know, why there are recipes in your book? It's in order to learn propper usage of the oven, try them out. By the way: the book is not an "oven for dummies" version, giving you step by step explanations for every dish you want to cook and that's normal, Miele will assume that somebody who buys that type of top of range appliance is... having a clue about cooking ;-) Hope that helps...

the lesson to be learned here is NO NOVICE hone cook needs a combi steam oven. Especially to make a chicken breast. You should have gotten a speed oven instead. Plus every attempt should be made to hard plumb it if you do get one. That's bother water and waste. They are great tools for professional chefs that understand how to use it. This is simply user errors.

People are hating on this video but I found it extremely helpful. I know my way around a kitchen and I don’t want to boxed into a corner with limitations of a $4000 plus oven. the miele combi steam ovens are horribly marketed... i understand the company wants to sell a lot of these but the truth is steam ovens are powerful tools for the hobbyist home cook, and no amount of menu and automatic options will make them suitable for mass market adoption

I have a similar Miele combi-steam oven to this model and my experience with it mirrors what Scott is showing here. Contrary to some of the allegations in the comments below, I am an experienced cook and read the manual carefully. I have discouraged friends and family members from making the same appliance selection. The stainless-steel pans that came with my oven warp under normal oven temperatures. The unit is solidly built but poorly designed. When the fan on our unit failed, the replacement part took over two weeks to get and $930 to diagnose and repair. The MasterChef function is useless. In my opinion, no home cook needs this appliance. I use the oven without steam as a second oven on those occasions when the extra cooking space is helpful.

When you cook, your fingers are often greasy, yes. Perhaps you should try cooking once. Also it's a common complaint that this interface gets fingerprints. That’s the worst review. Do not listen to this man at all . The trays he tried to fit were from different Miele oven model ! The were from Miele single ovens prior 2007 ! The menu is nicely explained too . He just has to read it ! The touch panel doesn’t work as he touched it with a fraction of his finger and very quickly too . And lastly all touch surfaces have finger prints . Maybe if he degreases his fingers will not have any . Also man please clean that oven . Will you complain that miele don’t come to clean it for you. And when you fill the water tank dont make it all in water but there is a whole for filling it and when you fit in the oven should be dry externally next time you might want with the hose to fill the oven with water - because it works with water . But the way you operate with it you will burn the electronics soon with all this water spills!

Your review lost all credibility that it might have had the second that oven door opened and I noticed the state of that poor appliance. Someone who obviously can't be bothered with even minimal maintenance and cleaning ought to stick with the original luddite ways and roast their meat over an open pit. I watched this video first about 3 months ago, then put it aside and purchased the appliance in question. I use it daily, mainly for baking bread / steaming vegetables or re-heating food. My version also comes with the removable fresh/condensed water reservoirs and admittedly, those make for regular shuffling back and forth between the appliance and the sink, mainly due to the automatic cleaning and rinsing. That's a 'feature' that I'm not enamored with, if at all possible I'd advise a direct connection. Other than that, nothing but praise. To my surprise the programmes work almost perfectly: the food's cooked as it should be, neither overcooked nor half raw.

while everyone is entitled to their opinions about the products they have purchased with their hard earned money, some consideration for the content for sharing would be much appreciated. While there is no attempts in this video to actually understand how this equipment works, it is hard to consider the contents of this video being valid. I would encourage views who are considering this equipment to visit my channel where proper information is given with actual samples and demonstrations. Miele does not support me in any way to post my contents, and all manufactured goods in the current market has their benefits and challenges. Is this the best product? perhaps not. Would one find this product more useful after some actual effort to try and learn about something new, especially when good amounts of money was spent to purchase it? Perhaps...
