How do you coordinate with the photographer when shooting the "non-documenting" posed stuff? 3. What about lighting? At the reception they always turn down the house lights and if I use my own lights people don't like it and are squinting. I've asked to have the lights turned up for just enough time for my video but, someone will turn it down again. So, receptions are often the worse part of the day.

Just make it your own. Decide what you need to know from the day and make one up. Needs to be unique to what's important to you.
