Respect is in the heart, not only in the physical actions of a person. I try to avoid stepping on people’s graves or walking on them but often times that is the only way to read the headstone and as well, a lot of graves are close together. I’ve seen family members picnicking on graves , sitting, singing, you name it. I know every bit of cemetery etiquette and I adhere to it at all times. Originally, the only reason people were discouraged from walking on a grave was as to not disturb the casket below, as for years people were put in the ground without a concrete vault to protect the casket, and subsequently standing on a grave could allow it to cave in. And how do you think groundskeepers mow the graves ? When you visit a cemetery, it’s all about basic human decent. I hope I cleared that up for you. And no need to yell Ginger. All caps is not necessary. Have a great weekend and merry Christmas ✌🏽✌🏽
@paulmcwilliams17094 жыл бұрын
@@SCOTTONTAPE I used to feel that way about walking on someone's grave but sometimes the graves are so close together you can't help it, especially when you visit a small family cemetery. When I would go and visit family members and you have to clean up around the grave, or put some flowers on it, I'm sure my Dad would forgive me for stepping on his grave. Besides there are no sidewalks or walking paths in any cemeteries that I've been to.

Never has and never will make sense to me.
