As a silver guy I don't own gold but I couldn't help but think about the Irish legend, me pot of gold. When I first signed up to Coinbase a good few years ago now they would not allow me to withdraw to a UK bank account at the time, they were fine with deposits but not withdrawals so I just bought gold and silver with Bitcoin instead from a company in Europe called Bitgild, they were a couple of pounds dearer for an oz of silver but the cryptos were doing so well at the time I didn't care.

It is crypto for less than a nano second and they take zero risk in holding as crypto. All bullion dealers I know of handle it in immediate conversion to fiat with zero exposure to crypto volatility. This is only a methodology of theirs allowing other mediums of exchange to acquire metal. The crypto is sold before your finished logging off the site.
