There's something very comforting about having a wife/female partner who thrives on planning all aspects of travel and touring, and who does a great job doing so, and who therefore can run the show on your trip.

In my youth I would go to pike place on many weekends. It's like stepping back in time. Great food and shops, and no matter how often you would go you can always see something new. It used to have an old wood staircase going out the bottom floor leading to the piers and the old trolley. Good memories.

I live here and this is a very well done video. it's fun and entertaining even for someone who has been to this place a million times. It is a great place no matter how touristy it is, just don't go on a sunny saturday in the summer, go on a rainy wet cold tuesday in november.the lower areas are really interesting although not as good as it was back in the day. there used to be really cool bookstores, now more commercial stuff.I must mention the park, you did mention the big problem with seattle, the homeless, you called them "bums". oh, if you ever said that here, you would be vilified. You must use the politically correct terms such as temporarily homeless. As long as your deft at stepping over needles, you will be fine
@scottsdaletravelchick2 жыл бұрын
Hi Fred Thank you for the nice comment. Overall, we really enjoyed Seattle area (did you also see our Waterfront review?) but we did distinctly notice a lot of ‘temporary homeless’. My husband says he’s still gonna call them bums. 🙂
@fredgarv792 жыл бұрын
@@scottsdaletravelchick I should have said "temporarily unhoused". The one thing you showed very well here is the seafood. so fresh and so much of it. I don't know if I could live in a land locked area without access to all this fresh seafood, mostly from Alaska and fresh live crab right out of the tank. There are asian markets in Edmonds just a little north of Seattle that will even clean them for you right out of the tank and they are way cheaper. Also since I have not been to the waterfront since they got rid of the ugly alaskan way viaduct, your video was the first time I saw it. It looked SO different and SO much better. I had my car broken into parked under that thing. Actually just last week I went to a classical music concert at the Seattle symphony right in the downtown area. it was the first time I had been there in years.
@nightowl547511 ай бұрын
Temporary homeless? You’re deluding yourself. Try, permanent homeless and more to come. The homeless go there because they are not only tolerated, they’re welcomed! The people in Seattle use ridiculous terminology to sugarcoat a problem that’s only going to get worse and continue to destroy your city. You get rid of the homeless by having the police roust them continuously, so that they become very uncomfortable staying in that area. I think, if the people are that delusional, why not call them, inspirational intermediate underachievers. If the citizens of Seattle enjoy bullshitting themselves, why not go all the way?

The Market proper does not allow any kind of pet unless it is an ADA service dog. But Seattle in general is very dog friendly and don't be surprised to see them in pubs, the grocery, Home Depot, etc.
