Hard to believe historic Pike Place Market was nearly demolished in 1971 because the city council and business leaders wanted to replace it with “luxury apartment towers and a high-rise hotel, upscale offices and a seven-story parking garage.” We’re lucky the people of Seattle voted to preserve it.

We lived in Market Place North for 5 years prior to Covid. It was insane to live in PPM. Our favorite moments were waking up at the crack of dawn , getting a SB coffee, and taking our Golden Retrievers around the market while people were setting up. They were minor celebrities while we lived there. 😊 Also, entertaining as our townhome deck was right over the water. It was so beautiful. It was the best of times and ,also , the worst of times. You are also in the middle of so many scary things as we made friends with people that were in desperate need of help with drugs , alcohol, and mental illness. We could not turn a blind eye to it and supported many of the institutions that helped out. All cities have problems. Living in PPM was not easy if you care about people in need. This is our personal experience. Downtown Seattle is so unique and a treasure , but , the harsh reality is there too. 😢

Seattle has always had a big drug problem, but you couple that with the US in the last 10 years thanks to the invasion of meth and other things causing mental health issues, then it really needs help. Unfortunately these big blue cities on the coasts seem to think its some sort of far-right viewpoint to clean the streets up, save people from themselves, and protect tax payers from crime.

We took a tour of Seattle visiting Madrona Hills and Queen Anne (I think that's the name) neighborhoods. I got a kick out if the troll under the bridge! I wonder if it's still there. Worked street markets for years, best pitches are by the entrance, punters see your goods coming in, if they don't buy coming in, they can decide to buy before leaving. It's handy they have overnight storage so you don't need to buy a van. Should have asked the daily price for the stall

The fact that there is already an excessive amount of demand awaiting its absorption, despite how everyone is frightened and calling the crash, is another reason why it is less likely to occur that way. 2008 saw no one, at least not the broad public, making this forecast, as I'll explain below. The ownership rate was noted to have peaked in 2004 in the other comment. Having previously peaked in the second quarter of 2020, we are currently at the median level. Between 2008 and 2012, it dropped by 3%, and by the second quarter of 2020, it had dropped from 68 to 65.

Real estate and stock investments may be good decisions, especially if you have a solid trading strategy that can see you through prosperous days.
@Carolj-p9j2 ай бұрын
To balance out your real estate holdings, I suggest investing in equities. If you're cautious, even the worst recessions can present fantastic buying opportunities. Additionally, volatility can produce fantastic short-term purchase and sell opportunities. This is not financial advise, but you should buy immediately away because money isn't king right now!
@randettawolf2 ай бұрын
Yes I concur, I've been talking to an advisor for long now, mostly because I lack the knowledge and energy to deal with these ongoing market circumstances. I made more than $220K during this slump, demonstrating that there are more aspects of the market than the average individual is aware of. Having an investing counselor is now the best line of action, especially for those who are close to retiring.

I always love the pike place market. I went there so much when I lived on first hill in the 90’s. I walked all over downtown almost every day. One place you noted that I’m so happy to see is still there is the Alibi Room. My best friend and I went there a lot. One cool thing about that is they had Movie scripts there you could read while you were there. I wonder if you noticed if they still do that.
@lienmeat27 күн бұрын
Alibi Room is better than I would have expected. Seattle has a reputation for not having the greatest pizza, but I loved Alabi Room's. A friend came to visit a few weekends ago and we stopped there to eat before catching some improv across the alley. Also, you may not remember but you were involved in us buying our house in Shoreline in 2020, so thank you and I hope you're doing great. That condo looks cool, I'm sure it'll sell fast.

From a consumer's perspective, they need to be in the same booth each time. If it's somewhere we go regulalary, we will know what to find where. If it's not always in the same spot, I doubt many people will take the time to hunt it down the day they actually need/want it.
@nancydineen67972 ай бұрын
I was going to say the same thing. If I had a favorite bread person I’d want to find them quickly.
@kybereck5783Ай бұрын
@@nancydineen6797 Most if not all of these shops are little nic-nacks as showcased. There's certain food stops such as honey, saffron, or other weird spice themed pop up stores but there are no hot food/pastry vendors that rotate, they all have their specific storefronts. There's a farm to table meat vendor that rotates and that's the closest thing I've seen to perishables rotating.
@lienmeat27 күн бұрын
For not well established places that didn't require specific infrastructure (like restaurants or larger stores) it's not feasible for them to all be in the same spot every time. Many things are seasonal, and the schedules of different shops vary wildly. You couldn't even plan some of them a month out.

Hey Monica, your content is definitely amazing. And the way you show the houses shows your skills very well. And yes, I have noticed a few things that will keep people watching your videos longer. And you need to fix them like: 1. You can add different transactions 2. You can add captions 3. And you can upload more short videos next to big videos If you can use these things properly in your channel, then your videos will attract more audience. And KZbin will recommend your video to more people. And the more people your video will reach...…. except the rest you have good knowledge 🙂🙂🙂 Another thing...… you are really so cute 🤐🤐🤐🤐
