@@Milky-gr7hz Well, sundown isn't when it's fully dark. Sundown is when the sun sets. Although you are accurate with what time it's fully dark because I saw a video where he actually showed when the sunrise and sunset and also when it became fully dark was and it was 12:10 am in the summer.

I live not too far from where this is taken and it reminds me of how depressing winters are here. Get up and go to work in cold and darkness, I work in a factory with only artificial light, come home in cold and darkness. I never get any real daylight until weekends. I am so glad that we are in spring now, I am appreciating every warm day and late sunset.

Depends on timezones too. In northeastern Brazil, the Sun rises before 5 am due to UTC -3 we use here, although we're located on a UTC -2 region

If not in the tropics then the sun rises pretty much due east and stays high up in the sky during the summer. In winter it rises more southeasterly and stays lower in the sky throughout the day. As can clearly be seen here. Not to mention the fact the day is longer(more daylight) in the summer. Hope that helps!

As the UK and Ireland are very up north, we have VERY short days in winter (sunrise at 8:50 am and sunset at 4:00 pm) and VERY long days in summer (sunrise at 4:47 am and sunset at 10:08 pm). I love when it doesn’t get like fully dark until like 11 pm! You get so much light in the day that we almost have 24 hours (but are just off by a couple hours).

You live higher up the country than me. For me in the winter it’s 08:02 sunrise and 15:47 sunset. And in the summer it’s 04:36 sunrise and 21:19 sunset. The earliest sunrise is 04:36 and the latest sunrise is 08:05, the earliest sunset is 15:45 and the latest sunset is 21:20. Winter solstice length is 7h 45m and summer solstice length is 16h 43m. They change fast and it’s insane. This is so much different to the USA and people think they are the same latitude as us.

I live in Northern Aberdeenshire we get about another hour extra in summer and minus an hour in winter compared to this. 57.3' I think were at. I can't find a time lapse of it but this to show a friend who lives in NYC but this is close enough. Pretty cool.

I live at 20 degrees latitude, and while the length of the day doesn't vary too dramatically, the locations where the sun rises and sets does change. We also have times when the sun is directly 90 degrees overhead, and vertical poles don't cast a shadow.

If you live either 23.4394 degrees north or south, the sun will get up to 90 degrees on the summer solstice, which means no shadow. This is because Earth is tilted on an axis of 23.4394 degrees, which means on the summer solstice (Jun 21 or Dec 21 depending on the hemisphere), those lattitudes will point directly at the sun. Thu/04/14/2022 at 12:25 EDT.

I live at about 45 N in the US. This is pretty close to how it is here. It gets light about 4:30 AM on the Summer Solstice, and Dark around 10 PM. Gets light about 8AM and dark by 5PM on the Winter Solstice. It gets depressing in the winter. In the tropics, it is the same amount of day/night year round and twilight is much shorter. I wish it was that way here. But I would have a difficult time living in a place that doesn't have 4 seasons.

I live near the tropics, so during solstices the sunrise times are around 5:30 am and 7:00 am, and sunset times are around 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The difference in the sun is still noticeable between summer and winter, but probably not as much as it is further north.

I live in the southeast of Mexico and the difference between the seasons in the video seems incredible to me, here you barely notice the change between one season and another, on the summer solstice the day lasts 13 hours and in winter the night lasts 11 hours

In Athens, where I live, on the summer solstice the sunrise is at 6:02 am and the sunset at 8:51 pm (with Daylight Saving Time) and on the winter solstice the sunrise is at 7:37 am and the sunset at 5:09 pm.

At least the Solar Noon is somewhat later where you live. For me, it’s 7:14/7:15-16:30 in winter and 5:23-20:28/20:29 in summer. Also, it would be nice if there was Double DST from 5 weeks after the DST starting until 9 weeks before it ends. Also, it’s better to call it daylight shifting time instead of daylight saving time. And I have EDT2 on my watch btw and I type it in the date at the bottom of the cumment, plus Mon/06/14/2021 at 25:19 EDT2 means that it’s technically Tue/06/15/2021 at 1:19 EDT2, but I’m still awake for Monday night ofc, so I just call it Monday and you can actually do that with the time in 24 hour time, plus it clears up the confusion of midnight starting the day (0:00) vs ending the day (24:00), plus 24 hour time just makes more sense in general. Time 1 on my watch is EST, time 2 is EDT, and time 3 is EDT2 (obviously it’s not official ofc, but still though), and I can just easily switch back and forth between the 3, plus I have an Ironman Timex Sports Watch btw. I live just over the Pennines from Manchester and it's actually considerably lighter at 9 - 10pm in mid summer than this video shows. We get daylight until around 10:30, and only full night until around midnight.

When driving at sunset in a northerly or southerly direction I always notice how much lighter the sky looking north is compared to the sky looking south. Then again it gets light later at sunrise of course.

It only gets dark out and goes down to Astronomical Twilight with the sun 13° below the horizon, but the sun has to be at least 18° below the horizon for it to be Solar Night. Also, you are right about how it looks darker on camera than irl. Like legit Idk why the Winter Sunset sky was already towards Mid Blue even though it’s usually Pale Blue and then Mid Blue is Early Nautical Twilight and you can still see just fine outside then, not have everything as a silhouette. In New Delhi, durning the winter solstice the sunrises at 7:09am and sets at 5:28pm 10hrs 19mins daylight while in summer solstice the sunrises at 5:23am and sets at 7:21pm, 13hrs 58mins of daylight, so that's almost a 4hr difference, however if anyone is wondering the earliest sunset happens from Nov 28th to Dec 5th when sunsets at 5:23pm while the latest sunset happens on June 30th when the sunsets at 7:23pm. The earliest sunrises happens from June 6th to June 15th when sunrises at 5:22am while the latest sunrise happens from January 8th to January 14th when sunrises at 7:15am. On summer solstice dawn happens at 4:56am while dusk at 7:49pm while on winter solstice dawn happens at 6:43am while dusk at 5:54pm Earliest Dawn= 4:55am Latest Dawn= 6:49am Earliest Dusk= 5:49pm Latest Dusk= 7:49pm

Please remember to keep in mind that Summer has Daylight savings and that the surface of the earth rotates almost 30 seconds faster each day during the equanoxes and almost 30 seconds slower than 24 hours close to the equinoxes, resulting in solar noon changing by as much as 16 minutes either side of centre, and that solar noon in the winter solstice in Manchester is 12:07pm (and at 12:07am for solar midnight) and that solar noon on the summer solstice in Manchester is 1:10pm (1:10am for solar midnight). Notice how much astronomical twilight there still is at 1:10am during the summer solstice since the latitude is 53.5 degrees, especially considering the camera is facing almost directly south; slightly westerly. If one is at 48.561 N. latitude at sea level facing north during solar midnight of the summer solstice with nothing in the way, and no light pollution whatsoever, the sun is 18 degrees below the horizon, where the merest amount of sunlight can be seen all during solar midnight. When the sun is in between 12 and 18 degrees below the horizon, the light is know as astronomical twilight and cannot be seen below 48.561 degrees without having an elevation advantage over the northern view. Thanks for filming this difference!

For all the people outside of the UK and Ireland, these 2 days wouldn't be what i call normal days here whether its in Winter or Summer. Winter is usually absolute depressing with rain, wind, sleet and a icy wind thats so uncomfortable. Summer is only great for a week or 2 and its back to rain and cloud.
