Wow! Splendid time-lapse Scott, couldn't believe it was so hot and humid, especially on Monday early evening and night, 32C at 9pm and 27C after midnight still!

Yes, it looks like 40°C was quite widespread across the eastern half of England. It's a shame so many weather stations have closed, otherwise I expect we'd have seen the true extent of the heat.

Great video and fascinating to see such high temps overnight on the 18th/19th. The effects of the cold front were much more dramatic in Chorley than in South Manchester/Cheshire on the 19th. Temps dropped into the low 30s at Rostherne/Manchester Airport from around 38C and actually remained above 30C until late into that evening. It was still 32C at 7:50pm at Manchester Airport on the 19th.

Hi Scott, great video! Also in Italy a huge heatwave has arrived And we reached almost every day 38-40ºC for two weeks. Last week was the worst. Here it’s normal to have days with highs of 33-34ºC. It’s unbearable especially during nighttime.

Thank you. Are those temperatures record-breaking for Italy?
@leonardozanaga29502 жыл бұрын
No, the weren’t at least in my town. In July we reached 39ºC, buy the record was 40ºC. The record was broken on June, 27th, when the temperature peaked at 40ºC, but in the city center essere almost 42ºC

@@ScottRichards10 If heathrow would use a serious Davis vantage station combined with a fan-aspirated radiation shield and not be surrounded by miles of concrete/asphalt the temperature would drop 4c, so not a new record by any means. I can't believe it, 25°C at 4am?!?! Thats normal here but jesus christ without air conditioning that night must have been unbearable. Also, what happened at 2pm on the 19th? The temperature suddenly drops a few degrees. Change of wind direction, or a glitch perhaps?
@ScottRichards102 жыл бұрын
Yes, it was a cold front moving through. The wind suddenly turned to the NW, increased in speed and dropped the temperature by about 4°C in 10 minutes. I think it was the first time you could say 32°C felt "cooler".
