LOL. Right?! I gotta give it to them too! I’ve worked in deferent areas areas of “customer service” my whole sad, SAD life, LOL, so I’m pretty damn good at talking to people and matching my personality to theirs to make a connection. And in my personal life I’m a silly, sarcastic little bitch who likes to joke around and poke fun at their friends while being incredibly careful not to go too far or ever come anywhere close to being genuinely hurtful. (Of *course* I’ve fucked it up a number of times in the past but I’ve *definitely* gotten better at it over the years! Thankfully!) And yet the thought of combining those attributes would have me absolutely shitting bricks. LOL. Don’t ask me why exactly, but it does! I’m currently a server as I’ve found that with my specific skill set (In the U.S. and at the right restaurant anyway.) that it’s how I can make the most money! (Which is actually kinda sad, TBH!) ANYWAY, I have a coworker who is _HELLA_ sarcastic with her tables and just straight up makes fun of/bullies like 75% of them. Now, she makes a fucking *KILLING* and is very well loved! However, I am absolutely POSITIVE that if I tried to pull the same shit with any of my tables that I would end up being fired within like a week. And, again, I am _really_ good with people and reading them as well. LOL. So, yeah, for as much shit as “carnies” get, they most _certainly_ have a _very_ specific skill set and do a job that a _lot_ of people could NOT do well. (Though I _am_ sure that it’s _much_ more difficult to get fired in their position than it is in mine. LOL.)

The trick with the bottle thing is to move the ring from the top of the neck to the bottom as you stand it up (like the guy was doing). And notice how he moves his arm wayyy forward as he stands it upright. And generally you want to get it up in one smooth/fast motion. The more you hesitate, the better the chance that it'll get slipped up.

I wish carnivals would either make these games super hard to win OR expensive. Not both. I was just at a county fair and next to no one was even attempting these games, because when they cost so much and are impossible, why even try?
@noone-ss8lu Жыл бұрын
because they know they can get away with it, they use psychology to get you to try even when you know its rigged. if you went alone it be easy to say fuck you and that scooby doo plushie. but if you there with your date, and she sees something she wantsyour not gonna tell her no becuase there something you want in return LOL.. or maybe your divorced parent who only sees your kids on weekends, and decide you going to take them. your not going to tell them no if they want something either.
@StrayGuitarist Жыл бұрын
This is so real. I used to always give a couple of them a shot at any fair I went to, even though they're rigged, 2 or 3 plays MIGHT get you something, and there's a little bit of adrenaline that comes with getting close. But the last time I went, it was no longer just "tossing away 5-10 bucks for a little fin" and instead would have been 25-30 bucks. I'd much rather save it for a trip to Denny's or something.

Sun Jul. 23, 2023 A North Dakotan KZbinr and new father Scott Cramer reportedly blows newborn son’s entire college fund playing carnival games at the local fair over the weekend. It all began as a fun and lighthearted video with the young father laughing and smiling optimistically, leisurely throwing plastic rings at oversized bath duckies but it quickly escalated beyond control, according to onlookers. “He… uh he just kept GOING. We tried to stop him but we were powerless.” Skuds McDip, a carny working the nearby Wiffle Bucket Winnerz booth. “That poor child will be drowning in student loan debt in approximately eighteen years. It’s such a tragedy” IMPACT27 News attempted to reach Mr. Cramer for comment but had apparently sold his cellphone for “BB gun credits”. Attempts to reach his wife were also unsuccessful. We’ll continue to follow this story … And now onto other news, after nearly 20 years of tireless searching by smelly internet sleuths we may have finally discovered the winners of the Disney Channel Suite Life On Deck Danimals Sweepstakes and you will NEVER guess who!

Former carney here… The beer smash is somewhat rigged depending on how its run. The scam is that the bottles are tightly twisted into the wood so the shock is transferred to the wood. Knock 4 bottles over, the bottom bottles are weighted, top ones arent. Duck frisbee, the hole of the frisbee is almost exactly the same size as the duck head. Balance the bottle with the stick…you need to counter the momentum of the bottle by keeping tension with the rod. Its more skill than scam. It is beatable every time but the operator will refuse to let you play once you figure it out. Big basketball game…the hoops are at a weird distance and they are slightly oval shaped, increasing the chance you hit the rim. As for the prizes, the operator has to keep a mental tally of how much money they’ve made compared to how many prizes they’ve kicked out. A good operator will kick out a large prize every 100-140 dollars. That way you still make major profit (large prizes wholesale for about 25-45 bucks) while not killing the game. The “prize every time” games are able to do that because the profit on the small prizes is huge. Those small prizes range from 5-25 cents wholesale so kicking one out every 5 bucks earned is easy money. These margins are why an operator will just kick you a prize all of the sudden, even though you didn’t actually “win” the game. As for the jerseys, their perceived value is much higher than one of the medium/large plush prizes so the operator will likely only kick one or two of those out per day, and thats if the game is busy. The jerseys are fake, only costing between 25 and 50 bucks depending on the wholesaler and the quality of the fake. You can expect a game to kick out a jersey probably around 300 bucks, and even then, dont expect to get a Brady or Rodriguez for that money. The operator has a tough job balancing profits and keeping the game “live”. It’s a skill in picking the right player to kick a prize to, or knowing when a player is live and there to win no matter what. Lots of psychology goes into being a successful game operator.

That was incredibly hard to watch. I cringed most of the time. But gosh darnit I love ya Scott because you’re so humble and kind even when every employee made fun of you! What a great attitude 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

If I had a Nickle for every time Scott says "There it is" & then it isn't, I'd have almost as much money as the people running the stands.

My dad definitely succeeded at the bb gun thing not once, but two different times in my life. Though maybe their booths were just a little less rigged, who really knows.
@imblue9839 Жыл бұрын
I was told that the secret was that the booths use 2 different papers, the thicker card stock is actually possible, but they only use a couple of those a day

I actually threw my arms up when you got that basket! And felt really silly cos I'm sat here alone. I genuinely hope this video makes your money back. Great content! I only recently subbed and it's looking great so far.

Growing up on the Jersey shore where all these games are at the boardwalk from at least Easter to Columbus Day it’s so funny seeing tourists try so hard at these games. When you grow up with them you learn Brett quickly which ones are winnable and which ones are scams 😂

So my dad is one of those people who is really good at claw games and carnival games bc he’s got his technique down, and he actually won the game where you stand the bottle up…let’s just say I was the only girl walking around with a giant hello kitty stuffed animal for the rest of the night at the fair💀👏🏻

If I had a nickel, for every time scott had a fictional green creature in his thumbails, I'd have four nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened... frice? Fourice? It's weird that it happened 4 times.

@@BertDaMonkeypretty simple if you ask me. they state that it's weird that this scenario has happened four times, and then they are confused about what "four times" would be phrased as. no need to be so antagonistic, just a joke my friend

If this wasn't a joke, then it would be called quadruple, Quad is 4, 5 is Quintuple so you know for next time😊 - and if this was a joke I'm gonna leave and pretend this never happened to me
