The weirdest part about the Charmin bears is that there's 3 completely separate yet strangely similar families of toilet paper obsessed bears. Red bears who like stronger stuff. Blue bears who rub the soft stuff on their face. Then brown bears for the rest. Either that or the entire family changes color based on the toilet paper currently in their house. I hate those bears.

So, as a long time user of Scott, I'll explain why I waste my money on it; it's not about the absorbency, it's about what it doesn't leave behind. Yes, I have to use more, but it leaves no toilet paper dingleberries or fuzz. The super soft toilet papers leave behind so much fuzz and debris, I don't feel clean. And honestly, a roll of Scott lasts me forever, even tho I use more per wipe, it somehow balances out. Also, whenever I'm forced to buy something other than Scott, it seems like my toilet clogs up super easily, that Charmin & Quilted Northern is just too soft and too thick.
@Pip844811 ай бұрын
I'm not a Scott fan, but I do agree that the super soft plushy stuff is terrible for leaving behind powdered paper and tears super easy leaving bits on you. I greatly dislike finding tiny wads of previous powders in crevasses I didn't know got sweaty until these clumps showed up.

Storytime: so I am scarred for life by Charmin. I will not buy any toilet paper with the word "strong" on it because when I read that word on a package my eye starts twitching and my cheeks clench in self defense. How this happened is when my husband and I first got married we were broke. Broke broke. Like crying in the checkout line counting pennies for a loaf of bread broke. We needed toilet paper one day and it was snowing and the busses weren't running so we had to buy from the gas station we could walk to. All they had was a four pack of Charmin Ultra Strong. I get this shiz home and open it and I was dumbfounded. You're not kidding about it being paper towels. I'm totally convinced that it's just cheap paper towels they buy and slice down into thirds and resell. That stuff will sand the paint off your car. And we were stuck with it cause we had NO money to buy a different brand until payday. Worst $6 I ever spent. We literally had to dampen it with water before using it.

The best TP according to plumbers (my son was a plumber for years) is the Sam's Club Member's Mark. When I moved to my apartment, my landlord told me there was toilet paper coming through the shower drain in the downstairs bathroom. He asked if we were flushing TP. I was like, “of course we’re flushing toilet paper?!?! @@eric_d Okay maybe amount of sheets is in tiny print at the bottom of the roll, it is not prominently printed on the roll. Still the size of the roll could still change at any time, all they have to do is change the fine print and put a different number and you wouldn't realize it changed. Just like the fine print on cereal for example, today it may say 9.7 Ounces but in 6 month you probably won't remember the old size, and then it could be reduced to 9.4 Ounces. If you use metric just convert it. Of course, it will be the same price as before with less cereal. Next when the companies can't shrink the size anymore, they introduce a new larger size with 25%* more for free. Then in a month or so they drop off the free part and charge more for the roll because it is now bigger. Then the process of shrinking begins all over again. *The free amount may vary. If you don't agree with me that is fine.

My parents have told me that the most intense math you'll do in normal life is figuring out which toilet paper and paper towel bargins. If you look, they're now changing the size of the sheets as well sooo good luck

When I was in grade 7 I came second in a city-wide speech competition with a speech all about how we need better toilet paper in school bathrooms, and this video has violently thrown me back to middle school and talking about toilet paper to hundreds of people by the end of the year

As someone who had to use Scotts for most of their life, it's definitely a "unspool alot and ball it up" kind of toilet paper. If you take the time to fold that bad boy you're gonna have a bad time

Another Scott user here, the only good thing is that it’s the one toilet paper that doesn’t clog my toilet

Exactly, and strangely I’ve been using it for so long I actually don’t like the thicker tps as much, I just have the Scott routine down so anything different is more of a hassle for me

@@christinei8314 I never thought about it but yeah, same here. Scott was what we grabbed because it was cheap and didn’t mess up our septic system. Now that I’m on my own and don’t have a septic tank, I still go for Scott because I don’t like any of the “plusher” brands. They clog too easily, but that’s probably because I’m used to the Scott routine

Funny, I bought the Scott brand one time because it was cheap and I was trying to save money. However when I picked up the first roll, I already knew I was in for misery. I pulled apart the sheets and it was litterally so thin I felt like dying inside.

Underrated Video Moment: Scott saying "There's so much to unpack" when there's a suitcase on screen. EDIT: Scott's mom, moments after giving birth to him: 20:46 (This is a joke, don't crucify me!)

Imagine a toilet paper company marketing their product based on how well it can vandalize someone's house.

The insane joy you feel when one of your favorite youtubers mentions a niche running gag from your actual favorite web series is unparalleled. Amir's dad's legs are so thin he frickin' moved!!!! Knowing that Scott is a fan of Jake and Amir brings me so much joy :) but this video is seriously cool; not anything anyone asked for, but definitely a chill, fun way to tear down the charmin bears lol

the reason they don't name the leading brand is because there's a law against naming competitors in ads, as it could quickly become slanderous edit: ok this is apparently regional or has changed (i haven't seen ads in forever since i adblock tf out of everything)

As someone with IBS I'm very familiar with toilet paper so I'll give some extra information people don't seem to understand: first of all, Charmin sells different roll sizes. That's why they compare a normal roll size to the size you're buying. As far as I know, they no longer sell their normal sized options. One of their rolls is so big you can get a toilet paper holder specifically made to accommodate the extra size. Second, their "essentials" line is basically their discount option of toilet paper. It's on par with all the other non-charmin options but it's not a good representative for the brand. The same is true of their Basic line if they still sell it (I'm not sure if essential replaced it) Third, you don't need the Ultra Strong version at all. The Ultra Soft version is equally as strong and its much softer. I've never had issues with the Ultra Soft not being strong enough. Last, and most important, Charmin Ultra Soft is far superior to all other brands. Yes, it's more expensive than other options, but you're paying for that extra quality. That extra quality makes a huge difference when you're stuck on the toilet for way too long and have to wipe several times in a short period. It won't make your anus sore and has never caused the skin to become so raw it bleeds. Yes, I've had cheaper brands end up cutting my skin open. Also for people who don't have a penis, you only need two squares of Charmin to wipe after peeing. Vs 3-5 of other brands to not get your hand wet with pee. Figured I'd mention it since Scott can't really review that aspect of toilet paper.

Ultra soft was my go to for years because everything you said was true. Only downside is it likes leaving little fuzzballs behind that were driving me nuts. Switched to ultra strong for a bit just because of those stupid fuzzballs. It's definitely not as effective but it at least leaves less fuzzies behind. Switched to a bidet though that basically curbstomped tp

As someone with Crohn's disease, I can't thank you enough for performing this analysis. You're a true hero. (As an interesting side note, you might have heard the debate about going in from the front or the back to wipe, but did you know there are a surprising number of people who stand up to wipe? And they think they're normal! Crazy!)
