This Miele Optima dishwasher had a loud circulation pump.
After the initial draining and then filling the dishwasher becomes noisy due to something being caught in the Circulation Pump.

Thanks. Just fixed my Miele by following this video for pump removal details. Things I would do differently next time ... 1) Lay the machine on its LEFT side instead. With it on its right side I found that loads of water leaked out of the water softener area onto internal components, especially the heater relay (the white small box clipped to the water softener). If this gets even the tiniest bit damp I found you later get error E24, which went away after a day of leaving everything to dry out. 2) Make sure you have some angled grips to hand. One of the hose clamps is pretty impossible to loosen without that because of the angle. WEIRDLY the thing inside my pump impeller was exactly the same "bit of a plastic wrapper" as found here. Coincidence? or manufacturing error? Finally, my pump (in the UK) is different to this one. Plastic body and plastic motor housing containing lots of electronics instead of what looks like an induction motor (?) in the video. The pump was easier to open. My impeller does NOT spin freely, maybe the different motor technology, but all working fine now back together. FINALLY ... Thank You!!

Getting a weird grindy / vibration sound in the drying cycle. Seems the venting is noisy. Is this the same part that i should be looking at? Thanks mate

Scott, excellent video, your illustration made the disassembly easy. Thanks very much. The impeller in my circ pump was in two pieces. The adhesive that joins the two pieces had failed. Miele won't sell the impeller, only the complete pump. You had mentioned replacing the impeller if necessary, could you recommend a source?

Great question. Can you ask them to send you a circulation pump partition kit? It comes with a new impeller.

Excellent video. I used it as a guide to disassemble/reassemble the same model Miele. Unfortunately I still have a problem - popping circuit breaker. Do you do phone consultation? Happy to pay.
