Make a Treasure Chest - Forme Industrious

Quite a few years back, Jimmy Diresta made a Pirate Chest and I have wanted to make one ever since (Jimmy inspired this project). So better late than never.
Steel: 25 x 3 Mild steel flat bar.
Wood: Queensland Maple.
Steel Finish: Penetrol
Wood Finish: Boiled Linseed Oil
Abrasives: Smith & Arrow www.smithandar...
Welder: WIA 200i (It's a beauty)

Haha... love the ending. Also, pretty ingenious idea to use the TIG torch to heat up those bolts to peen them over. Never would have thought of that in a 1000 years.

Amazing as usual. Was thinking about chucking the towel in after a spinal injury but watching this has really inspired me. So much so I've gone back to watch all your old videos again. I was a welder fitter for over twenty years miss that trade bigtime, ended up with chronic back injury so I had to retire early. I use to mostly build heavy equipment, basically I've done just about everything in the fabrication business. As I said, miss that trade. Nice trunk a little on the small side but it is a nice little trunk.

Nice work Scott. I was inspired by Jimmies chest a few years ago. I made one for my grandson. It's lid includes four inset coins which are dated for the birth years of him, each of his parents and me. Also his initials in relief carving and a secret compartment. I just couldn't help myself.
