I recently bought a 94 Toyota pickup. It’s got dents, scratches almost everywhere, every body panel is beat up, but it runs strong. It was overheating so the guy got rid of it. All it was, was a thermostat. 2 bolts, and a $7 part later, haven’t had that problem since. I drove it around for an hour on a 100° day, temp stayed normal. Let’s hope it keeps going

Same thing for me - bought my kid a '98 Accord EX from an elderly couple. Garaged, clean as a whistle w/ low miles,. fully loaded. She rear ended someone and insurance totaled it. I almost cried. @grizzlygrizzle 3 жыл бұрын
The only problem I have with used airbags concerns cars that get totaled before having an airbag-recall replacement done. If it were my car that needed an airbag, I would get a used one, but I would make sure I had the VIN of the car it came out of, and I'd check with airbag-recall database to see if that car had the replacement done. Other than that, I'd have no problem with it.

I do keep my cars a long time. I still have my 1972 Chevelle I had in high school long time ago. I also have an old one owner Saturn SL1 series made in Spring Hill Tennessee. Pretty base car. No Electric windows, manual crank windows. Someone was going to buy it but she didn't want manual windows so I got the car and I definitely wanted manual windows. I just keep my cars, but I also maintain them. Never abuse them as I'm good to them then they're good back. That why I almost bought a salvaged fixed automobile because hell, when I'm done with any car, trust me they're all done with anyway.

Good Afternoon Scotty, I really enjoy watching your show I am learning I think women should learn about cars there driving so in the future we don't get scammed by auto industry, I have been watching you since nov 2020 and I bought a 2004 Tahoe well I love it but i was on my own and i didn't inspect it like i should of my brain is in dumb mode right now going through a divorce and don't know any man that could of gone with me anyway I really have a fear of little cars and with me being on my own I wanted something i could feel safe i don't drive alot but ive tried to get the knowledge of this tahoe i fixed the back window which was a task but proud of myself now ive notice it's leaking i thought the oil so i bought a white sheet of paper put under the car and it's the transmission leaking now here comes the fear that I got screwed big time when i bought it it was night i had to take uber for the first time and stupid me bought it not knowing the history of it the guy said his wife goes to LA once a month and she loves it but they don't have enough parking and her parents just moved in with them and they didn't have parking well it hadn't been registered since 2018 i had to pay all that i paid what he asked 4500$ way over my budget then i took care of it now it's been spotting since i got it but i notice it is getting a more bigger i put transmission fluid in put white paper and it leaked alot out. can you please give me advice what i need to look at this is so scary to me cause i cant even live in it if i had know choice with spending all i saved for to be on my own this is why im really in stupid mode now 59 yrs old first time i ever bought a used vehicle and on my own now all my family gone i should of stuck with my bicycle .Thank You so much for sharing your time and knowledge to us.

*_Hey Scotty, I own a 1991 Toyota Pickup and I'm having trouble with my AC. It does work although it only gets cold once the car is moving. Then when I stop the AC starts to get warm in a little less than a minute of idling. It basically only blows cold air once the car is actually moving, and the AC air starts to get warm once the car is not moving. I'm not sure what it is. Should I get the whole AC system replaced?_*

Hi I really like the twins would you recommend an early manual model? is there any known serious issue i read about using different transmission oil and if driven hard often a small oil cooler would be handy do you have anything other to look for? so the gaskets are weak on early models? or it's just a subaru thing from older engines? thank you

I just bought a used car from a Toyota/Ford dealership and during the test drive I told the salesman that the Airbag Warning Light was on and he promised to fix it. I called the next day to make a appointment to get the airbags fixed. I was told that they WERE NOT going to fix it because I cost to much. I spoke to 2 different attorneys and told the car dealership what I was told and THE DEALERSHIP GLADLY FIXED THE AIRBAGS AT NO COST TO ME. They had to have a different dealership fix the airbags, I was told by that dealership that it was $800.00 plus their labor charges.

Is the autel mp808 or the launch x431 a better diagnostic tool for an early stage mechanic or is is there an even better one for around same price ($800-$1000) price range?

Usually when airbags are deployed, the insurance totals the car. Unfortunately, now that bumpers are plastic, they are easily damaged and are expensive to repair
