One of your best videos yet and a perfect way to end the weekend... Wet boots can be cold in the snow, but at the end of the day I put on a dry pair of socks and put my feet inside plastic bags before putting my boots back on. Just the kind of soft fruit/vege bags you get from the supermarket. Your feet dont sweat because of the cold and I remove them before hiking the next day.

Great video mate! I love how you can compare Aussie winter camping to most of the overseas ones. In Australia most of the snow areas are rugged and remote with next to no fire wood, and what is there is hardwood that you can't really process without a chainsaw. Meanwhile overseas they drag in a hot tent and a stove in a sled and in like a hour they process 3-4 trees with a handsaw and have a roaring fire all night long in a heated tent. Unless you go super hardcore like Xander Budnick 😲. Love your stuff mate . Beautiful shots!!

Mate one piece of kit that will change your camping life (believe it or not) is a piss bottle. I’ve been camping for years and always just put up with getting up in the night and facing into the cold or rain until a famous KZbinr recommended it and I’ve never looked back. Game changer!

Love this gents. Makes me frikkin yearn to get out in that kind of country again. I'm only one step up from a complete bunny so watching other people doing it is good. How about dropping one shovel and bringing a frying pan? Why not slap a patch on the blow up mattress? How much did the tarp, bivvy etc weigh compared to a tent? I'm trialling a tarp and trekking pole inner literally today out behind Brisbane and it's only a little bit lighter than my 1.5kg tent, but has heaps more room.

It can get very cold very quickly. -10 extreme rating is def not warm enough (and STS are known to over rate their bags) when the weather turns unexpectedly, with very little shelter. I'm sure you heard about the 4 that were stuck in the hut last week, the backcountry shouldn't be taken lightly by people that may get inspired to head out there.
