CemantingArt Ecoprint & Batik Etc when we used to scour a lot of cotton commercially we only used soda ash and a bit of detergent to keep the costs down. You can experiment based on your fabric. Obviously scouring well sets the stage for more efficient use of time and materials moving forward so you want to prepare well but no need to over do it! Good luck :)

CemantingArt Ecoprint & Batik Etc for scouring and regular fabric preparation, we don’t ever do a vinegar rinse before regular natural dyeing (or indigo)but some prints may require this step? I’m not familiar with anyone doing vinegar as a mordanting step.
