Almost glued the armored sentinel together but noticed how easy it was to just piece the top together and take off as needed

There are a few models you can do this with if you don't glue certain pieces. You can get both variants of the repulsor executioner by not gluing the turret together.

Their Horus Heresy Dreadnoughts have places for magnets. That threw me for a loop. I never knew they could be so generous.

Been out of the hooby for years and got back in when the Cadia Stands box dropped, never built the sentinel due to being indecisive on which version to build. Many thanks for making life a little easier haha

Much better than what I had to do to achieve both options with the old kit 😂 had to clip bits off and use teeny magnets but it worked out in the end. This is sooooo superior design wise.

Every army needs at least a unit of 3 that way you can you the reinforcement stratagem on them over and over and piss the opposing player off.

My scout versions have closed tops. I spent several hours carefully cutting out the top hatch so I could model a crewman leaning out of it with a cigar in his mouth.

I glued the roll cage into place using the armoured top as a guide to make sure it was in the right spot so it all fit snugly

Definitely try to buy, build, and paint models you love. You can make almost any core set of models work in a list, so start with an army and units you really like

Same as my vehicle painting tutorials except minus the Castellan Green / Camo Pattern. It's mostly Zandri Dust, wash, drybrush highlight, and sponged weathering.

are you allowed to up armor kits like put double the thickness armor for 2x hp but it reduces movement?

Not in the ruleset. A lot of upgrades like that haven't been around since 7th edition, although back then it was just extra armour and no movement loss.
