The blood ritual part of the story was to show that the infection does in fact take over the victims soul, the afterlife is a factual thing in the SCP universe so the doctor was checking to see if her wife had passed on, hoping that the flesh monster was just using her wife's memories to taunt her, but no the infection changes the soul of the victim, despite being just a ghost she was still trying to have the doctor embrace the change, she most likely succeeded and then got the guy reading the logs too by spooking him into shooting and alerting the mass.

Please be aware that SCP-001 has a lot of different entries all different. They are there to disguise the real SCP-001 which nobody knows what it is (basically a fail-safe for prying eyes) Also note, SCP entries can take place in different realities, dimensions, timelines, etc. The lore gets really deep. SO when world ending SCP articles are written a lot of the time shenanigans are at foot.

Hey Nux, in your SCP 3008 video you mentioned 3 classes of SCP, there are actually 5, and these are all the ones that I know: Safe - Easily containable. Euclid - Containable with correct measures, possible need of a large scale of resources. Keter - Very difficult to contain, needs extensive resources and special containment measures. Apollyon - Impossible to contain, may or may not result in widespread death and destruction. XK Class - End of the world/Humanity capable SCP. This does not include the countless subdivisions of Safe/Potential Euclid, Euclid/Potential Keter, Keter/Potential Apollyon, and various classes of hazards including those such as cognito hazards, anti-memetics, and so on. Classes and their name origins: Euclid was an ancient Greek mathematician active as a geometer and logician. Considered the "father of geometry", he is chiefly known for the Elements treatise, which established the foundations of geometry that largely dominated the field until the early 19th century. Keter as far as I know does not have an origin for it's name, however the internet provides many original stories and history for their names. Anomalies like SCP-173, SCP-682 (Which as stated in SCP lore, is able to be either organic, or inorganic, and has a different definition of life), SCP-343 (An anomaly posing as god. This is a misconception. They are instead merely an incredibly powerful omnipotent being, this means they could be corrupted by SCP-001), SCP-076-2 (which due to their innovation could survive in the new world), and many other anomalies.

Yeah it's even worse if you read the actual story itself because the D-Class guy that they sent outside that gets grabbed by one of the blobs ends up deciding that he'd rather die than be a part of it so he shoots himself, but then the blob takes his body, tears off his hood and his body REANIMATES and THEN liquefies and melds with the blob. Genuine nightmare fuel.

In the SCP foundation, they have many different proposals for the 001 title, but since the 05 council doesn't want to value one SCP as the most significant or most encompassing of the SCP foundation, they haven't actually accepted any as the "001." Other proposals include the Scarlet King, The gate guardian, and a malfunctioning destroyer. I recommend the you review the 'red pool'

Hey nux referring to the last video when you talked about how some scps are easier to contain than others, thats actually how they are classified, SAFE: Easy to contain (like if you have a deadly gun you can just put it in a drawer and not use it). EUCLID: A bit harder to contain (as the wendigo skull that even though it was an object it could scape if the walls of the containment were too weak or by its mind controlling abilities) KETER: Very hard to contain (as the immortal reptile or the shy guy) APOLLYON: Imposible to contain (As the one in this video), they usually reffer to K or XK class escenarios with means global or universal effects or destrucion There are some other categories such as: TAUMIEL: Scp's used to contain other instances of scps NEUTRALIZED: Scps that are not anomalous anymore or that have been destroyed intentionaly or by accident ARCHON: Scp's that in theory could be contained but the foundation choses not to, either because it would bring more trouble if contained or any other reason.

SCP Illustrated does this scp the best as it has become his most successful series do to how much he expands upon the idea with new scp interaction with the light. There is even an event coming soon that is to activate all nukes in all scp facilities at once to cause a nuclear winter that would kill most of the flesh and block out the sun with smoke for decades if everything goes right.

The only escape I could possibly think of is something like in SOMA: becoming a digital entity, like scanning your mind into data or taking on a robot body. But that's not likely to happen by the time that SCP-001 would activate in this universe. Absolutely fucking horrifying.

You wanna know another terrifying thought? Even if the Sun is the only star that this happened to, it would probably have repercussions far away from Earth. Even if it's not in any great capacity, the light from the Sun can reach other planets on the other side of the galaxy or beyond. Sure, it's just a tiny prick of light at that point that wouldn't even be noticeable most of the time, but that's all you need to touch you for the effects to start taking hold. There are also tales about some SCPs after day broke. The light nullifies any anomalous properties the things it touches has, but a couple anomalies survived. There's a story of SCP-096, the Shy Guy, finding and protecting a blind little girl who lost her parents, or SCP-343, God, finding and saving groups of survivors alongside the Foundation. There's basically a whole canon for When Day Breaks. If I recall, the Plague Doctor is also in a story, where he manages to stay inside a Site and studies what happened to try to find a cure.

Nux, there are MANY SCP-001 entries. They ALL are lies. They ALL are true. ...now, the meta reason is that when the project got started everyone wanted their own creation to be the First SCP. So, instead of making a mess of things they added the Legend that these entries were made to hide which was the real SCP-001 and that they might all be false or one or more might be true. So When Day Breaks is one of such proposals that fits into the SCP "canon" as an event sometime in the future which the Foundation learned about somehow.

A suggestion for something SCP related you could watch is a channel called 'SCP Illustrated' It contains stories of SCP'S interacting with each other, for example SCP-173 When Day Breaks, or SCP 096 battling against SCP 682 It has plenty of good videos and I think is worth a watch.

I've read 2 or 3 chapters of the series of When Day Breaks, and I know of the Sun's origins and his sister, who travels the stars helping civilizations. What I want to know is how the Sun "broke", though. All I could get from the fanbase is that part of our Sun SCP works with "thaumaturgy seals", and a "certain cult" broke the star to "melt the planet into a single lifeform". The cult of the Flesh That Hates? I'm slightly confused and still curious...

You should do SCP-001 “The Scarlet King”. There are many 001s because supposedly the foundation wants to hide the one true 001 due to its sheer power and will over other SCPs. And the Silent King is considered by fans and scholars to be most likely that true SCP. He is horrifying and has multiple stories you can read about and watch videos on! In fact most 001s have multiple stories including “When Day Breaks”.
