SCP 049 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Plague Doctor.
SCP-049 is a humanoid entity, roughly 1.9 meters in height, which bears the appearance of a medieval plague doctor.
SCP049 will become hostile with individuals it sees as being affected by the Pestilence, often having to be restrained should it encounter such. If left unchecked, SCP-049 will generally attempt to kill any such individual.

I'd honestly like to see a story where 049 is fully backed by the Foundation with his own department and staff. Yes he's dangerous and has made mistakes, but with some oversight and support he could do some great things. I'd even say he has it in him to be a director of his own site.

The amount of conviction that goes into 049’s voice is astounding as it brings the character to life! Scp 049 has become the “hero” of most of the stories he is in now, albeit ironically for this episode.

Its not too different from our doctor actually when you think of it. This version had the same mentality and goals. His SCP likely didnt limit him but encouraged him to experiment more to find a cure. Which he somehow came to a conclusion that he could not cure the pestilence, but as the doctor he had to cure or he'd be stuck with this obsession forever. That led to him exterminating all life in the aims of achieving freedom. Whats interesting is that he apperantly managed to kill *everything*. This hints at him being able to kill the reptillian, shyguy and other living SCP's as well. He is not the Evil alternative, He is an encouraged yet even more desperate version of ours. Which makes SCP-049 even more dangerous.

That’s kinda our Plague Doctor already? He isn’t intentionally trying to kill his patients, he genuinely wants to help/cure them. But for whatever reason his anomolise properties both kill a living being upon contact and resurrects them as “zombies”. Our version of the plague doctor isn’t evil or malicious but because we still don’t know what this pestilence is we find his methods very questionable and confusing.

Another thing that Dr Bright is *NOW* allowed to do around the facility: Dr Bright can go into SCP 049's chamber and steal whatever he wants from there. However, guards must be with him at all times to monitor if he's planning on becoming the doctor himself...

Idea for a future video, A base director tells the doctor he wants to help cure the pestilence. The first thing he does is has the doctor grade all staff members for the pestilence and finds a case that the doctor feels has gotten to one of the late stages. Then use SPC-500 on that person while the doctor watches. The doctor amazed at the power of the pill asks that we mass product the pill and give it to everyone at once but we tell them that we can't, it is an scp that we can't copy. Then give the doctor a sample of 500 to see if he can duplicate the pill. Hijinks to follow.

@@randomyoutuber2633 that was not the cave of death lol. The cave was only a means to cross into other parallel universes. Crossing through the cave wasn't the dangerous part. The dangerous part was the evil 049 twin who explained how he killed everyone and everything in this universe. But evil 049 was never contained in this parallel universe so his experiments went unchecked vs the good 049 who was always kept under lock and key. Also no that universe was the exact same universe as the good 049's universe. When SCP special forces went into parallel 682's containment unit, it was literally dead inside the same acid tank they use to slow the main 682 down. There was nothing to suggest it was any different because they obviously had to contain it the same way.

Moral of the story: Everything must be done in moderation. A lesson that humanity has repeatedly learn throughout history. If we do not care for our planet, how different are we from SCP-049's evil twin? We must develop a way to sustain the resources we consume. For example, paper making companies plant the most trees worldwide. If that other world's plague doctor moderated his experiments, he wouldn't killed off all life aside from himself.

you know, honestly, i personally think that, the "pestilence" that 049 keeps revering to, might be just the feeling of hate, or something that a person doesn't like, but it pretty bad, like, 682, has such a bad "pestilence" problem, that 049 fell down. but then, as mentioned, when a guard lost his fear of death, (again, something someone doesn't like) 049 said that he was cured of the "pestilence"
