SCP Orientation is an archive of files of the SCP Foundation.
Today we will be studying Item number SCP-187: Double Vision, Object class: Safe.
SCP-187 is a Caucasian female, early to mid 20s, who exhibits a unique form of precognition whereby she sees everything in two states simultaneously: as they are, and as they will be. She does not see minor changes, only changes to what would be considered the 'norm'. SCP-187 cannot foresee future events or changes to items at which she is not currently looking; rather, she can see the future state of whatever she is looking at.

@@DrakeOola click Read More. it’s a medical device they insert into the eye socket around the eye that holds the eyelid open, typically during medical procedures ir surgeries involving the eye that would otherwise cause the lid to close on reflex and can be used with a local Anesthetic in the form of eyedrops. Going in typically there’s no pain, due to thr eye drops as well as how it’s made. Pulling it out though… intense pain on the eye used that can last for about an hour. Additionally speculums can stretch the eyelid permanently resulting in reduced vision, or additional surgery to correct the droop. Basically, she had a choice, either look at what the foundation wanted her too, or be forced to look anyway with the addition of intense pain situated in her eyes that would cause physical de formations that would render her blind overtime, or require surgery on the eyelid (and seeing as this is the foundation were talking about… That surgery would not be optional).

😄 Because wear a cup wii protect the doctors testicles when he get kicked for using the eye speculum. I had them on during lasik eye surgery. Luckily my eyes had anesthesia drops. 😎

Trauma often makes people hypersensitive to things as opposed to desensitized. Kind of like how soldiers who were in firefights can hear popcorn popping and experience PTSD.

seems like she can only see a short time into the future (couple days), depending on her upbringing, not many people around hear die that frequently and/or in such SCP related instances. it'd be different if she could see months, years into the future.

It's surprising that the Foundation hasn't placed protective goggles over 187's eyes (that only they can remove & control) instead of using basic mittens. One can still hurt one's eyes by clutching an object between two mittens. She is compelling. I want to know more.

Proposal: Limitation test of SCP-187's capabilities. Test Procedure: With the use of a head-mounted VR unit connected to an attached camera system, have SCP-187 describe a number of D-class personnel in plain clothes, recording all details. Afterward, remove the equipment from SCP-187, and have them describe the same D-class personnel, recording all details for comparison. Given how SCP-187 would be looking at a live video feed displayed in front of them instead of the actual personnel, it may be possible to circumvent their ability through such an apparatus. This could result in the possibility of improving SCP-187's mental well-being, as well as improved containment procedures, as the risks SCP-187 currently faces could decrease. Should a similar apparatus be created for regular use, the unit should be routinely monitored with components routinely replaced, so the unit is in a constant state of change. Note: I am fairly confident such an apparatus will allow them to view everything normally, and could possibly reduce the need for continuous medical staff.

She's not seeing The’ future just the probability closest to the originator of what she is viewing. That is why small changes, self prophetic prophecies, and events occurred. if it was The’ future events would play out in absolute form small changes on the infinite should be visible and self fulfilling prophecies would not be a issue as you currently have a understanding of them.

I would like to point out, her abilities also don't work on certain card games, and DnD sessions. She does cheat, mind you, but in the normal way. I swear she has like, 5 blorp dice in her bag. I think Gears gave them to her. For anyone curious, she's a decent Monk most of the time, though she does have a habit of overestimating her dodge roll sometimes. I think she picked it because of that JoCat guy's video on the class. She also like Kill La Kill and more action oriented shows, though we tend to keep her away from the more...violent series.
