Love how the 3000 model is just a supersized moray eel. I recently went diving on a somewhat shallow reef off Cozumel in Mexico and the dive master pointed out something. It was just the head of a Goldentail Moray sticking out. They’re beautiful. Gold yellow with black spots. They kinda have a mini snout on top of their mouth and that’s where their eyes are. They open and close their mouths regularly, but it’s not threatening and it’s just how they breathe. It’s amazing to see. We also saw some coral polyps that if you wave your hand near fast enough will tuck back into their tubes. Really cool. We also saw a MASSIVE pufferfish. Like 3 feet long. Un-puffed, of course, but you have two regulators (mouthpieces) while diving, and they both have a purge valve that opens up the tank so you can clear any water out of your mouth. And if you take your spare regulator and put it near the puffer and press the purge valve you can get them to puff. I only learned this back in the boat but I wouldn’t have done it as it would be kinda a dick move. Anyways it was amazing. Try diving.

Effects: SCP-729-J was put on a fishing hook and lowered into the sea, to where the current position of SCP-3000 was found with radar. After 2 hours of lowering it into the sea, Dr. Saarland complained about a cramp in his hand from unwinding the fishing pole and Dr. Bayer took over. Another 50 minutes later the assumed depth of SCP-3000 was reached. After 2 minutes, a tug was felt on the fishing pole and SCP-3000's presence swiftly disappeared from the radar. As Dr. Bayer also complained of his hand hurting, retrieval of the end of the fishing line was postponed. I told them both they should do stretches beforehand, but no, "We play Halo every Friday!", "Our wrists are trained!". Should have listened. - Dr. Baden The next day, after proper warmup, SCP-729-J was successfully retrieved, along with a crudely written note attached to it, reading: Alright, I thought we had a deal. I turn some consciousnesses to spaghetti, and you guys get your regrety-forgety. But, okay, you won. You get the forgety stuff for free. Lifetime supply. But please, just this one condition! Keep. Literally just the deep water - even without anything in it - just thousands of feet of water below, stretching as far as the eye can see, across thousands of miles, is terrifying to me. I get knowing what could be lurking down there is part of that, but even if I knew for a fact nothing was in it, I still find its sheer size and depth horrifying. I remember flying over the Pacific, about half way between both coasts under a full moon, at a point when there weren't really any clouds. Just seeing this huge expanse of water with no land, knowing it was like 20 thousand feet deep, was pretty terrifying. There was a guy who managed to somehow survive over 70 days adrift in a tiny life raft in the middle of the Atlantic, and the idea of living and sleeping for over two months like that is just nightmarish.

I love the animation and the VO. My problem with this is that it doesn’t actually address the central theme and canonical purpose behind SCP-3000 beyond a brief exchange of dialogue near the beginning. SCP-3000 is the Foundation’s source of memory erasing drugs because this entity is (or at is popularly embraced as) the antithesis of consciousness. This is not a monster that is scary because it eats you. SCP-3000 is a monster that erases any sense of being and thought so you are left brain-dead floating at the bottom of the ocean. Then maybe it does or doesn’t eat your spiritually annihilated body, but that is not the point.

I love this animation. One fun fact is that most saturation divers (dive out of a bell and live there for days) have auxiliary air tanks attached to their umbilical air system in case it snaps. In this case however, they’re too far from the diving bell to be able to fix the problem. This is why new diving suits have rebreather setups that allow divers to breathe up to around 12 hours without an umbilical air system. I suggest the yt channel Dive Talk if anyone wants to know more abt this stuff

Ok, so, i read the file about SCP-3000 before this, and there´s nothing in there that indicates the level of epicity (and fear) that an animation this well done can bring to one´s eyes, but on a personal note i consider it could be off the scale...

Nicely done. From an armchair biologists perspective the scary-looking Moray Eel must have been the design inspiration, which are shy but fairly personable despite their appearance.

the renders are top level i must save. and the voice acting and lines are great. i would say the animation of movement takes me out of it a bunch. but over all great work. keep it up and have a great day

This is one of the most incredible SCP films I've seen to date, and I've seen most if not all there are. Outstanding. Creepy as hell.

Great video! The fish swimming animation didn't feel very real but beyond that I thought it was really cool! Oh and also at 4:51 the subtitles should say "I think this might be what messed with the rig." Instead of "I think this is what messed with the rig"
