SCP-4975 is a vaguely humanoid entity with various avian attributes, the most notable of which is its beak. Its body structure is long and thin overall, and its limbs taper off into formless extremities, lacking distinct digits. A thick, hardened skin layer covers the entirety of its body, including its beak. SCP 4975 continuously rotates them one vertebra at a time, from back to front, ending with its head, in a rhythmic fashion. This produces a clicking or cracking sound with each movement. SCP4975 only stops moving its neck in this manner when it is preparing for an attack.

SCP-4975 in a nutshell: It’s a bird that makes a cracking noise with its spine and once it stops it kills you. It stalks you for long periods of time. If you prevent it from stalking it’s prey, it somehow attacks from the location it’s in, almost like being in two places at once.

@@skybot7091 that’s actually an issue I have with many SCP entries, at least put a “there does not appear to be any connections or clear resemblance between the victims” if that’s the case cause right now we can’t tell if this SCP is smart enough not to stalk people with martial experience and/or weapons, or if it would and your hypothetical is a possibility... It’s fine to have mystery in a horror setting (it’s usually quite advantageous even) but they really need to make sure they are sharing what would be basic info about the scp at least, things any sensible person would investigate and have added unless it was O-5 classified...

I like to think that this SCP is some kind of entity that goes after people who somehow avoid their natural deaths. It's obviously a homage to the idea of time running out, how we all have our time to go and our fate is unstoppable, and the only victim in the actual article is someone who's suffering from cancer, going through chemotherapy. The author would have intentionally inserted the fact that he's going through chemotherapy for a reason, and I think it was to highlight that this victim is someone who is avoiding a natural cause of death, thus a prime target of SCP-4975.

Even if the Foundation could contain it somehow (which they cannot, because death is inevitable), the person should still always have died at the same time 4975 would have killed them.

I do exercises to reduce my stress these days and I mostly only hear it in my truck before I start it etc. I did take benzodiazepines like valium & clonozepam and those were wonderful for a couple of years and then stopped working as well and I got super addicted and it was a living hell kicking them.
