Dr Bob brings you SCP Foundation Euclid Class object, SCP-867 Blood Spruce Animation.
SCP-867 is a species of coniferous tree visually similar to the blue spruce, except for its distinctive red coloration and a complete lack of seed cones at any stage in its life.
SCP 867 has leaves with hollow structures similar to hypodermic needles, containing a single long, thin seed and a tiny gas pocket at the base of the leaf. When a living animal brushes against the leaves, the gas pocket inside of the SCP87 leaves expels and injects the seed into the skin of the animal using a mechanism similar to that of an auto-injector. The tiny size of the seed, which is coated with a liquid with anesthetic and coagulant properties, renders the injection essentially undetectable.

My favorite part of stories like this is the unnecessary person building of the characters. Like, how the author goes out of their way to humanize them, shows their hopes, dreams and desires. Goes the extra mile to endure a sense of empathy, all for the express purpose of making their horrible, unfair and meaningless deaths as upsetting as humanly possible

A kevlar lining wouldn't do much to stop the needles from injecting someone. Kevlar is essentially woven plastic that disperses force. Needles and needle like object have a very easy time getting between those threads. So a better protection method would be thin plates of metal under the hazmat suit

I do wonder... These are carnivorous plants, yet the file itself (after looking at it myself) never states anything regarding the wood of the tree. Does it perhaps have the same consistency of spruce wood? Is it sturdier? Softer? Can it be fashioned into other objects like tables or chairs without risk of infection? Truly a curious thing to consider...

I don't usually react to these SCP stories with emotions other than amazement and interest, and in some rare cases maybe even pity or anger, but I have never reacted so viscerally to one as I have with this. The fact that it can do that simply by someone touching it is horrible. And it is quick to grow as well, impossibly so. The branches stretching through the veins and arteries until they burst is an image that makes me want to vomit, and with my damn near overactive imagination, it's even worse. And it just sprouts out from the body, even perhaps an orifice, and the visceral imagery my mind can produce from that is beyond my capacity to cope with. Thank you, Dr Bob, for managing to creep me out from the entire rest of my day.

When Dr Bob just wanted to say "Oh mia wa mou Shindeiru!" Haha but all jokes aside this one's actually not that scary. I mean granted it's process is horrifying and running into one is still definitely scary. A lot of what this SCP does relates to a combination of a lot of different real life nature animals. For example there are snakes that can inject venom the same way. They actually have small holes in their fangs. So when they bite down it gets directly injected into your body. And with the exception of it literally ripping your body apart... there is a parasite similar to this that effects snails. Those weird ..really disturbing... zombie snails lol... But anyway decomposed living organisms can help things grow. Hence the whole circle of life lessons lol. Don't forget we even have a weird species of bird that drinks blood, along side the vampire bat. If you want some fun nature lessons, every single thing that I just mentioned is very real. Go Google and have fun. Thanks for another video Dr. Bob. 😃

9:25 SCP PR has allowed anonymous members of its clean-up teams to post about their experiences online & as a 5 year member of a "Team Fire Clean" I have to say: this has been the most rewarding & satisfying work I've ever done in life. You wouldn't believe how many anomalies can be cleaned by simply submerging them in fire but its a lot. And sure sometimes they're resistant, but the SCP really support their cleaners so we've got access to several innovative flames that are much hotter than anything you'll find in the civilian world...once we get site admin approval that is. Or in the case of one really cool flamethrower, we need approval from the O-5 AND the ethics board.
