SCP ARTBOOKS | New Paperback Edition

We are back with a second crowdfunding campaign, this time on Kickstarter!

The new paperback edition is similar to the previous hardcover edition in many aspects: it has the same list of SCPs, the same illustrations, and even the same oversized dimensions.
This time, however, we made the books more affordable, more lightweight, and just look at these new stylish covers! There are changes on the inside too - we will tweak the page designs making them look even more authentic, and add some fresh content.

I'm very excited I plan on getting all 3 books! Also glad that these are more affordable than the last artbooks! I do have some ideas for some pledge goals, if you care to read, however! A plushie of SCP-999, SCP-131 A and/or B. SCP-049 plague doctor mask. T-shirt or hoodie featuring other SCP's or SCP logo's (Keter, Euclid, Safe, Apollyon). A small Jade ring of SCP-714. SCP-939 figure or toy to have on your shelf. D-Class Shirt + Pants. Cup-o-Joe Mug (SCP-294) As long as the original SCP creators give the thumbs up I am content and excited to back!

Put in my pledge for the three paperbacks! I'm so pumped that actual SCP projects like this preserve the best stories on physical media we can collect. If you're looking for ideas for more Kickstarter stretch goals, what about a physical mock-up of SCP-5094, Miss J's Whiz Kidz Schoolhouse? It could be a nifty throwback to '90s PC games and perfect for display with other SCP collectibles :D

I have an important question. My family has never allowed me to buy anything that wasn’t available on Amazon when shopping online. Will you offer these books on Amazon once the kickstarter ends in September?

Yes, we 100% will! They won't be available right after the campaign ends though, since we need to produce the books first. I think the new paperback edition will be on Amazon sometime in early 2023 or mid-2023 -- depending on the production slots the printing house will be able to give us. I hope it helps!

After production is finished, we plan to redirect some part of the goods to a warehouse in Europe, but we are not sure if it will be only for the crowdfunding backers or if we bring some extra batches to sell them later across Europe. It's a bit complicated with Amazon. We need to see if we can find another ways or platforms. If you know some local distibuters/ or comic/book shops that may want to sell our books, we would be really grateful for their contacts. As for your second question, we don't plan to make translated editions yet. I hope it helps!

Did you even bother crediting the person(s) who originally came up with the idea for all the SCPs on the book? Did you credit the entire SCP site in general for the inspiration?

"SCP is licensed under the Creative Commons Share-Alike 3.0 License - meaning anyone else can copy and profit off of anything you make if they wish, as long as there is proper attribution." So they don't give any money to the original creators, they state who are the creators in the books. And yes, they asked if they can send some of the profit to the site directors but they refused

Hopefully :) One of the points of making the campaign was to create a more affordable versions of the artbooks because the hardcover ones turned out to be harder to sell to distributors and large book chains.

Try to look on the bright side: the more people know about the SCP Foundation, the more authors it will attract, the more new cool SCP entries we will have and more people to polish the existing ones to perfection. I believe it's a good thing.

To be fair, others have gotten in legal trouble for selling SCP stuff, since they don't own certain things/or didn't ask the publishers. In this case, they did.
