Reminds me of one Tale where Bright mentions that having sex is very difficult because he has to be careful not to let his amulet touch his partner's skin, leading to some rather interesting (and probably not the most comfortable) positions. 😂

I’m assuming the amulet is like a hard drive with Bright being the computer, it contains Bright’s knowledge and memories . If you connect a hard drive to a computer and transfer copies of data and info onto said drive from the computer, both the drive and computer will have the same info. But when you disconnect the drive and store it away for a month, it’ll miss out on any new info the computer may have received. So if the computer is destroyed, you have back up info, but not everything you might have needed. Also seeing that the SCP Sites seemingly get raided every few months by GOIs, it’s probably less of a security risk to have Dr. Bright wear the amulet at all times cuz he’s usually good a defending himself, from what I’ve read and heard.

I’m assuming the amulet is like a hard drive for Dr. Bright’s mind, soul, memories, etc. For example, your computer has Data A and your hard drive has Data B. The computer constantly gets more data and info while the hard drive sits in a box. One day the computer dies and there is no way to transfer Data A to the new device and you only have Data B a.k.a the Hard Drive a.k.a The Amulet. This is just my take on this question. Another reason on why they keep making him switch bodies could be security reasons, if the amulet was always sitting in one place it would be easier for GOI’s to steal, but due to Bright’s “Wherever needed” basis, he and the amulet are constantly on the move.

If you don't have complete immunity you will suffer from disease and cancer without sweet release from death and in constant pain. If you can't breath under water and there is flood you will constantly drown. If there is fire and you don't immune to it you will suffer from endless burning etc. If you have complete immortality sooner or later sun will burst or universe will die. You will be alone in space for a LONG time. We are not trees or turtles. We are high intellectual beings and our brain is not suited for endless life. Eventually we will become bored to death and can't escape it. We will go insane. There are tons of other things. When without immortality we can escape any kind of torture with death it will be impossible with it. Sorry I am not an English speaker.

What confuses me is if removing the amulet causes the current host to cease higher brain functions, how would Dr. Bright create copies of himself? Every time he'd remove the amulet the current body he's possessing would effectively become a vegetable. Also now I'm curious, if there were to be multiple instances of Dr. Bright would his consciousness inhabit just the "original" body (whichever body he's possessing before making a copy of himself) or would his consciousness inhabit every copy?

After 30 days of the amulet remaining on the same body Dr. Bright's consciousness stays there even without the amulet, which is how he would be able to create copies of himself. Also I think his consciousness would inhabit every body.
