It's the same story in the comic book, except without the physical degenerative properties. The comic book Mass tends to wear down it's wearers psyche by tearing down said wearers inhibitions the longer they wear the mask. In its place, it draws out the wearers subconscious perception, and then warps it into a cartoonish display of psychopathy. It's a trippy read with equally trippy visuals.

Yeah, I would start looking for an SCP that could be used to help in containment of this one... The current situation doesn't seem sustainable. Maybe ask the Coffee Machine SCP for something that neutralizes the fluids of 035? Imply that the machine's existence is at risk should 035 escape? If there wasn't a chance of something going horribly wrong, I would feed that mask to the all eating bag, or to the fire that wants to burn everything...

My thing is it was found in a crypt right? The crypt wasn’t falling apart given it was still intact enough to find this thing. So what about that crypt canceled or calmed or whatever this mask to prevent total collapse? There should also be something down there that would given them some kind of answer as to The Who, what, when, where, and how of the thing. Or at least of when it was last topside.

@@xenon8927 Same reason they keep most of this horrible nonsense, they hope to use it for their own purposes. Notice how often they refer to investigations using multiple redacted SCPs in combo. Myself, I'd be pouring the mask goop into SCP-019. Sure, it'll trigger a flood of pot-goblins, but they're not going to have much fight in them after crawling out through all that acidic crap, and maybe the pot itself will turn out to *not* be indestructible to the stuff, in which case it's gone for good. That is one of the few SCPs they actively want destroyed, although I'm baffled as to why. Farming pot-goblins would fix the supply shortage issues with D-class personnel right quick.

Theory: This SCP knows so much, because it's existed through ALL the times SCP-2000 was used in the past. As well as existing in the possession of an SCP type organization that existed LONG ago in the past, possibly in the original renaissance era. Specifically the mask is essentially an SCP similar to SCP 963. Basically much like 963, 035 also contains the "soul" of a member of an ancient organization that functioned similarly to the SCP foundation. But is more of a... Prototype to 963.

They're object classes. They are what the Foundation uses to label how hard it is to keep an SCP contained. Safe class is it can be left in a box for containment. Euclid means its trickier to contain and usually need special methods of containment. Keter is for objects that are nearly, if not impossible to contain. 682 is a good example of a Keter.
