I don’t really remember this game show, but I love these 80s commercials. Better Cheddar crackers (Ron Carey in the lead) was one of my favorite snacks back then.

The Scrabble Sprint 2.0 is my favorite.

I still feel that version 3.0 (four words instead of three) was the best, although it was much improved with the smoother shuffle along with the fairness of having the same words, leading the first Sprint to be good for playing along along with perhaps seeing how bad a few playings may be if s/he gets a 10-second penalty or make-up word, while having the second Sprint being more about the potential pitfalls after experiencing the first one.

Yup this was before they went to the better known two-game, best of three format, with bonus sprint for the winner champion of the day.

Gsn needs to show this,it's an all time classic,the 80's version,but not the 93 season.

One, you'd have better luck with BUZZR because they partially own it. Second, Hasbro is going to end up with a huge check just to air this again.

I guess they attempted to back in the 90's briefly again with Chuck Woolery) and I liked it but it was cancelled quickly...I guess the ratings couldn't keep as high as the competition of what aired in the other networks timeslot. But it's more than time to revive it! I know CW would more than likely be unavailable (too old) so would have to get someone completely new and younger.

@@davidbrunson8407By 2011, Justin Willman hosted “Scrabble Showdown”, and it was a blatant attempt to capitalize on the success of the board game and it was not as faithful to the original game show hosted by Chuck Woolery. It ran for 2 seasons from 2011 until 2012 on the Hub.

The only USA game show recordings I've ever found were about six episodes of The Gong Show recorded in 1987. I mostly find movies or drama reruns from that era. I did watch a lot of game shows off USA as well, even Press Your Luck and The $25/$100,000 Pyramid as after-school shows, too!

On NBC's "Scrabble" with host Chuck Woolery, he mentions the music and complaining about it, and the headphones she had to wear when he mentioned the same 3 words in "Scrabble Sprint" right before the champion went offstage to isolation and had to wear headphones, and cannot see and hear what went on with the host and challenger on NBC's "Scrabble" from an original 1985 broadcast.

Nah,this was pulled from daytime 1985...I can just tell by original commercials...coz even these seemed way outdated by 88!

If you're implying how do I know it's originally from 1985( and not reran in 1988 on USA, a cable station) it's obvious because it opens with a local channel 4 station in New York ...plus if you watched the closing credits, the voiceover discusses what's to take place on the NBC lineup. When USA and other game show networks followed that as a reran episode years later, they would block out the voiceovers. Trust me.

I was watching all the Days of our lives channels and they just kept getting taken down. I saw your comments a lot. I was at the end of 1994 and was going to start watching 1995 when Ms. Goldie’s sight got taken down. I found this channel and am watching the Newlywed game now.

Has this episode been in circulation before? And not that I needed anymore evidence, but this officially confirms that Scrabble Sprint 2.0 was from March 1985 to September 1986, whilst the Spelling variation of the main game was from April to August 1985.

According to a reliable source, #1099 aired on October 25, 1988. Using that, and considering the preemptions from October 1988 to March 1990, I came to the conclusion that this version had a total of 1,458 episodes.
