Cool build.. Im molding a xt660x into a scrambler/cafe racer right now..except i used the stock tank and used body filler on the back of tank to make its shape complete from where the stock seat fitted..less work on doing a custom tank..im using front and rear guard +headlight from a xsr700 fits well ..custom seat from a triumph Bonneville..amazingly fitted the frame and tank perfectly..and finally a modified engine with 60hp 55ftp torque..the thing cranks down the road.. Nothing better than taking a stock bike and making it something to personal choice..the 660 is a great engine too

Except it wont be as cool as the videos of other xt660,s ..but will definitely be a different look ..will hope to have it finished in a couple of months..only a few things left to sort out then i can get engine ready and strip/ paint and put together

@@lagus.adventures hey finally have worked hard in this 30deg c Australia.. I have made a quick video of my xt660x scrambler.. Here on KZbin type in specific headline Yamaha xt660x scrambler Youl find it 4 minutes of a blacked out beauty.. Got to finish the side covers..and stapple the seat cover on..3 weeks till dyno tuning..👍

Good stuff my guy, i've thought of an XT build as well, actually thought of making a cafe racer out of an enduro bike. Pretty nice editing and music choice is top! Thats what i always struggle with - 'what if other people dont like Rock' , glad you keep it real as well!

Lagus Moto i want to ask what do you think about power of this bike, cuz currently i am on a2 license and looking for a proper bike not like 300cc or so and the xt 660 is still within the limits of the a2 license but has the torque numbers as 650cc bikes ✌️ so how good is it?

Justelis imo torque and power is good enough. Depends on what you wanna ride and what style. I mean, this is a totally subjective discusion if u like the power. I like it. Its all i can say :)

Great work! I am just starting on a project like this but on a XT660z. My main concern right now is the fuel tank, similar problems to what you faced, but in my case I cannot cut the bottom of the tank since it is made from resin :( Maybe a good idea would be to get the XT660x tank? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Coool! Oh, hard thing to decide on... IF you like the Z tank, then id check if u can work with rasin and fill it up after cut? OR check how the X tanks looks in orgonal before deciding on X tank. IMO the Z and X tank dont fit a Scrambler rebuild, so i just built a complete new :) Suck with the fuel pump like on mine... but theres gotta be a smaller fuel pump out there :) Good luck m8! @@lagus.adventures Thanks! I actually hate the Z tank, so what I did is order a tank from XJR 1300, as it has a similar frame and the same pump. I might have to do some small modifications if my frame is wider but it is my best bet. I will definitely post when I get the tank.

I wanted to pick your brain around what your solution was for the airfilter box delete. I am left with 3 hoses that were going in the box before. 1 is excess oil, the other 2 are for air, question is..what do I do with them now? Did you have to deal with the same thing?

@@lagus.adventures Sadly no, there is no section on the airfilter, you just show the plastics that were removed. But I think that I can see the open hoses as you are going around the bike showing the tray for the battery.

Yeah it couldve been done better but its hard to make a new fuel pump fit! The box dont ”lock” or hit pants when u move forward

Instead of cutting the tank for the pump you could of wired in an inline fuel pump off the Kawasaki tank
