Video suggestion: melt down old bullet casings and make a brass bar.

I was scrolling through my feed and found your video. Good video. Just subscribed. I have my own channel, but I have not melted in about 4 months. I got busy with family and work. I need to start again.

Thank you very much for watching and for the sub. Yes, I have seen your channel in the past. Just subscribed. Great content!! I have kids as well, it gets tough to find time but it is a good hobby that I can do at home. And slightly cheaper than golf lol.

New subscriber here from England 🇬🇧,, great video, thats a cool way to extract the copper from the armature moters ,what do you do with commutator thats copper all so ?
@RGCmetal10 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. Crazy that these videos reach people across the world. Very cool. I am not super familiar with the terminology of these motors, but I looked up the commutator and it seems to be attached to the armature on these. It would have melted with the copper wire. Thanks for watching!!!

What and where do I buy the coating to cover the insulation? Good video!
@RGCmetal11 ай бұрын
You need a refractory cement coating. There are many different brands to choose from but all should do about the same thing. Main goal is to keep the ceramic fibers in the furnace when it is running. I bought this one from Amazon. Thanks for watching. Mr Volcano Refractory Satanite... www.amazon.com/dp/B095XJ1BDB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Go Dawgs. Im South atl how do you like melting? I'm thinking about getting a set up
@RGCmetal11 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. I am REALLY enjoying it. I learn something new every time I melt. My best suggestion is to do your research. Watch a ton of other people melt and learn what NOT to do from our mistakes. Molten metal is extremely dangerous. Always wear protective gear and be mindful of your surroundings. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Yes, you are right. I was in a hurry and did not follow the mixing instructions from the package. It dried ok, but probably a thinner layer than it should have been.

The fact that he is turning old useless things into something cool is what makes it useful. The hobby is mostly for the numismatic value and not so much about use usability. I myself have poured many copper bars, cleaned them up, and resold them for 5x more than copper melt.. You obviously spent little time into your comment that made nothing better so I take you are just trying to rile someone up. Lastly, the redundancy in that comment is insane!😂 at least you figured out how to use a comma🤦
