Scrap Farming Trick & Scrap Multiplier Explained - The Surge

Easy way to build your scrap multiplier and rack of lots of scrap in The Surge.
In The Surge, your scrap multiplier (usually) goes up when you execute an enemy, to a max of a 3x multiplier. The scrap multiplier resets when you use a med bay or die. But the scrap multiplier DOES NOT reset when you use a Gear Assembly Station, which strangely does respawn all enemies.

The multiplier goes up with the more scrap you have. Kinda like more risk, more reward

Very useful tip. The game seems pretty grindy - which I actually don't mind that's typically how I play the Souls games anyway I always over-grind early on - but also seems to have more benefit from grinding being able to upgrade your weapons/armor and farm parts effectively while leveling up.

Medbay and medical station reset your multiplier. You get 2% more scraps to your base multiplier meaning 3% at least or more if you have the reclamation buddy equipped.

Thanks for explaining how the multiplier works i have noticed it but didn't understand how it increased i thought it just was the amount of scrap you carried in total. Also with a high multiplier it seems the scrap piles drop more often, they drop more and more at least when go around and kill for some time without returning to the Medbay

The buddy implant also increases how high the multiplier goes, I got mine to 500%

How'd you manage that? Far as I know you can only get up to +50% worth of Reclamation Buddy implants per playthrough, you on NG+++?

The scrap multiplier goes up the longer you have it. As long as you don't go to a health machine

I wish someone would make a video simply explaining all the mechanics that should have been explained better in game. There’s so many that I can’t specify just one or two. I get that there’s supposed to be some sense of discovery in these games, but this game is a little too obtuse in my opinion.

I just lost 3150 scrap cause I died while playing drunk and farming. I was having trouble with those bots until I saw this though. Teach a man to fish and at first he may catch 4 fish in an hour before he accidentally tips the bucket and looses it all. But it doesn't matter, cause he can always catch more fish. Was still funny to watch him tip over an hours work though. lol.

I have been taking pictures of the screen and trying to figure out the math... but it only adds the number before the multiplier.. like the multiplier doesnt matter.. if that makes sense... Meaning i have 22.276 and get 334 [x2.48]... But my increase is just the 22.276 plus 334 = 22.610 So what exactly is the multiplier doing?? Because ive done this 3 times.. taking pictures of it and doing the math.. and all 3 times.. its like the multiplier doesnt matter.. Unless its doing it without us seeing it.. Like the number before the multiplier should be smaller.. if we didn't have the multiplier.. But thats weird.. the whole game is kinda weird though too so..

They multiply what you get from enemies, not multiply what you have

Nope, still works. I've used it in NG to get my Core Power to 80 and I haven't even gotten to the 4th area yet.

Não é bem assim, porque você pode ir até a estação de montagem e descarregar suas sucatas e voltar, sem usar o MedBay, que os inimigos estarão lá de novo. Com esse truque em menos de 2 h, dá pra juntar 100 mil.

Each area contains a different Mk in power, the first area is Mk1 the second area (Centrel production B) has Mk2 enemies as well as a few Mk3 unlocked after beating the boss, and so on and so forth, just cut the body part that you want to craft

EXO Overdose once you get enough tech scrap to beat the PAX boss you will get a good weapon for doing this trick The Pax version 2.0 is a lot better but harder to get
