I'm a mechanic So You have two options here . The valves are bent because the chain has either come loose, or the tensioner has failed and jumped some teeth . if its not timed properly the pistons come up as the valves are open and push against the valves and bend them and break the cam or the caps. You can replace the head with a second hand one and work out how the and why the chain jumped or replace the whole motor. probably cheaper to replace the motor yourself. Good luck to you both. Another method to clean the water reservoir is to take it out and throw in a hand full of nuts or gravel add some water and shake it for a minute, then pour it out and wash it out with the hose. poor badger More money. Save it. You could have done without that.

Thank you for the advice. I was concerned that valves might have possible beaten up piston(s) as well. Not sure though, he ordered a used motor hopefully it's good. Good idea about the reservoir wouldn't have thought about that

I used to use that and the red one to scrap (they both dump) but it's way easier with service truck and dump trailer in my opinion. Plus less $$ for tags, insurance, tires, repairs etc when just running one truck

But if it's discover 2 ya they can be pricey to fix. Same as the range rover P38 can be. If you can find a nice old range rover. Cheap I would love to get one off them. The two door range rover wich is the first range rover. They make big money over here and if they are really good you looking anything from 8000 right up to 15000. Over here. If you could find them and we can sort out shipping we could make big money. Cos they rot out over here you carnt find any realy so for a nice ones is the price is but down. Thay only things I like working on. Just putting my old range rover on the road now. But they are pretty cheap to fix and sort out.

That's what I've heard. He just had the front end and steering fixed plus couple calipers and pads so hes justifying a used motor since he just got that work done and knows what he has. I feel bad since it's literally the first vehicle he has been driving legally since he was 16. I guess sentimental to him as well

@@1320LUV There were three different V8's that went into those trail blazers: 2003-2004 (LM4 5.3L V8), 2005-2009 (LH6 5.3L) V8, 2006-2009 (LS2 6.0) V8. You could grab the engine and computer out of a trail blazer that already has one of these engines... the drive train too if needed. I would find one that was in a accident at a auto auction, but I would buy a whole wrecked donor truck with engine and drive train that you want.
