Yes. I wish we had garbage like that. Here in Canada, in the city I live, we are not allowed to throw electronic devices in the garbage. A lot of people do anyways, but theres not a whole lot. Most of that is in garbage bags so you cant see what people are throwing out. No hard "rubbish" days here.

I don't know about decorating trends in Australia, but that old rusty iron single bed, in that condition, would sell for $75 to $100 USD over here. It looked complete and had the original bed rails. And I'm glad you kept the planters. Their resale value FAR exceeds their scrap value. Depending on where purchased their retail value runs from 25.00 to 45.00 each. I love your videos! I'm too old to do this myself anymore, but I thoroughly enjoy watching you.

You missed the large blue mat in the first 3 minutes. You could place it in front of your bench or table where you dismantle your treasures. Easy on the legs there. I find watching your video's very relaxing, I used to hit the garage sales, recycle cardboard and aluminum. I could get 50 bucks a ton for cardboard, I would put half a ton in my van and run down to the recyclers, drop off my load, pick up 25 bucks, the shops would even break it down for me and the recycle place was within a 20-minute drive, I would drop it off quick and go out and pick up multiple loads

Worst case, if you can't sell it as is, Put it it together and bring it to a local goodwill, i'm sure a young family would love it. Lots of good finds on that scrap run!, those two GPU looked nice, a few computers some "Cord money!" those two thumbs down on this video, are surly are from the cord cutters that you beat to the punch hahaha. And the all important, left over money for food! Here, the heavy garbage day, is ones a month from spring to fall, no shortage of scrap around here, Only sad part is, now days most scrap is plastic ! Two thumbs up Ben! A 1:17 well spent!

You need a half bulkhead in that van for safety, and so you can pile more in without fear of ripping the seats. Amazing no one seems to mind you taking things. Here in outer London, UK, we found 10% of folks would angrily refuse to let us have anything when these free pickups were still happening. That rose to 30% in the rural areas.

Well I could have commented about a couple of things, mainly just how I'm thinking about getting into scrapping, so checking out a couple of vids.. Definitely some sort of scrappers heaven in Australia by the amount you find.. I know you would have to drive the streets in the UK for hours to find less than half that.. Most people get skips in the UK too and can quite often be in their garden just piled with all sorts, with maybe the odd scrappers gem there.. So absolutely won't just drive around finding piles of goodies in the UK like you do there.. Funny thing is I care little for material objects, or even money, but I'd enjoy picking through peoples junk for gems and things to scrap, I just know it's something I like.. You ever thought about doing a bit of second hand furniture also? Seems like if you collected all the wooden tables etc. for a couple or so weeks you would have a load of second hand furniture to make a few notes with too.. 26:25 When I seen those kitchen knives just sat in a box next to the path though I'm like ''OMG these genius people'' .. I mean who leaves kitchen knives at the side of the path for kids on street etc. to potentially pick up.. I suppose it might be a nice area with little amount of crime, but that still means some random kids could end up playing with them
@heathercarter83126 жыл бұрын

Scrap or Starve.... Immediately pass up two metal chairs because they will take up too much room and you "might" find something better down the road... then pass up a metal filing cabinet (4:37) that weighs between 30 and 50 lbs that you could easily put in the van and stuff all the appliances you are picking up into....
