Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I would love to see an evolve-based one, where you swap with someone, not like the winner's vehicle, but say 1st gets 4th, and 2nd and 3rd swap, then evolve. Doing this after every round, that way you can't plan ahead what you want to do with your vehicle, but also have no idea who's vehicle and in what round you will get it. Love the banter that you and Kan have, the four of you work so well with each other.

you need to do one where you "live evolve"! like, in the middle of the match, you're allowed to just modify the vehicle (within powercore constraints of course, lol), it'll be a natural tradeoff, that by building, you lose out on any progress you could've done if you were actually competing, so I think it balances out, but it'd be helpful for stuff like "oh lemme remove the spoiler", or "I need more stability" or "I chose the wrong wheels" or whatnot

@@jan_harald Free editing will definitely ends up at a comfortable build eventually. Adding a forced change within that rule can make things more fun. Everyone except for 1st place can edit anytime, however whenever the crown is reset to the middle (timeout or out of bound underwater etc) the first place must remove "x" amount of blocks or powercore (i put x because I'm not sure what's fair). Alternatively, forced adding hindrance block can be fun too, eg adding weight blocks. At least with the forced edit rule, they have reasons to stop edit and fix once they are no longer first, also make for a catchup mechanics.

Dethrone with comicaly high unicycles. Have one wheel attached by a really long pipe on top of which you'll have to balance in whatever way you like. For extra fun, require the wheel to always be on the ground and explode the vehicle if you fail. Don't know how to setup sensors to do that though 🤷

I think adding 1 of 2 mechanics would be fun as well. Same mechanic, just flipped triggers. Either if they go faster than or are moving slower than a certain speed, then their seat, engines, and gyros, all get extended up on several pistons. Like 8 pistons. So either as they go faster, they get more and more top heavy, or as they slow down, they raise up making accelerating out of it that much more difficult.

Couch aside, I applaud the application of new knowledge where he tested seat health in a previous video, and figured out that the seat that he used here, though has the least health, doesnt take impact damage, and used it to his advantage

Two suggestions for Dethrone. 1st is bulldog engines and monster truck wheels only. It'll be slow and deliberate and more of a tactical game. You're running away from everyone, but it's going to take you just as long to get back to the middle, meaning you're not going to reclaim the crown, especially if who ever gets it runs in the opposite direction. 2nd suggestion is a classic. Perhapskis? Also, I'm resubmitting my "charioteer" team dethrone idea. 2 teams, 1 set of players are the "horse" or the means of motion and the majority of steering, the other set are the "riders" and can contribute a little to steering and are the only ones eligible to claim the crown. If horses claim the crown, that team has to backspace to drop it. But it becomes a weird dynamic of cavalry battle in the game.

Dethroned ideas: jumping cars, speed cars, battle bots. Jumping cars is pretty self explanatory, cars that can jump. Speed cars will add a new twist to the game if the cars detach from the seat destroying the rest of the vehicle if your speed drops below 20 km/h or whatever is balanced (doable but still challenging). Battle bots is also self explanatory make robot wars style battle bots.

I'd love to see an amphibious vehicle dethrone, so instead of having to worry about falling in the water and losing the crown, you instead have to worry about balancing over and under water thrust to maintain it regardless of where you end up. :3

Okay you want a dethrone theme? Jump Jets. you have regular wheeled vehicles, but you have to have booster jets that are angled to send you rocketing forwards and into the sky. Can't fly with them, but you can leap water obstacles or island hop or the like.

idea: dogfight championship instead of swapping weapons and setting build restrictions, you can build whatever plane you want equipped with whatever you want. however, you will be swapping who's build everyone uses for that round

How about a game of tag. Build indestructible hovercraft and the only way to destroy them is to make them "it". "It" is the one with the crown. They all back into the crown spawning point and wait until the crown spawns, then scatter to the winds. "It" then must hunt someone else and pass the crown on by colliding with them. If a player has the crown when the crown's timer expires, the small explosive incorporated inside is triggered.
