Paul, I love your channel. I too am a veteran (old and kinda broke down) and I enjoy scrap collection also. I have never tried a lift on my truck, but I pull a trailer and I love it. Trailers are close to the ground and easy to load and arrange. Heavy items like refrigerators are no problem. I also use a winch. I have an electric one, but hand winches work great also. I live in rural Iowa, so I don't have access to scrap like you do. I go out on days were anything can be placed on the curb, and clean out garages, and old farm sites.. with the help of my stepson, we also haul junk automobiles. God bless, keep up the fight.

Paul where I live, Scrappers are the way of yesteryear. Our scrap metal is not picked up with the rest of the Garbage. To get rid of all scrap we have to bring it ourselves to the dump. At the dump we do not get money back, we have to pay instead by pound weight for dumping our garbage. It would be the same for Scrappers, they would have to pay to dump the Scrap Medal. So that is why we have no Scrappers like before. It is a shame, for it makes it hard for homeowners, businesses and the loss of work for many Scrappers. When my Mother-in-law died it cost us $800.00 to dump many of her household items that we could not sell or give away.
