So uh, isn't this illegal to just go stealing ppls trash out of their yards? Seems pretty ballsy to just walk up & take it like you own the joint. I'd be pretty uncomfortable w this if I saw someone just stroll up to my house & start picking thru my trash...

I'm in my eighth year doing this. Almost 1,000 videos. Let that sink in. If you watch a few more, you'll see firefighters and police helping me, happy neighbors and best of all my job is outside in the fresh air and sunshine. You ought to try it. :-) enjoy the day

I'm not sure what kind of day you're having, but I had to delete your other inappropriate comment. This is not the place to act up. You can be part of the conversation, but you certainly cannot act up. Act right and you can be a part of, or act up and I will ban you from this channel. Do I make myself clear?

I've had so many problems with people pulling up behind while I'm scrapping and calling cops (houses) or telling security guards (apartments) that I'll just toss things in back as whole drive out to desert and bang and cut to my hearts desire and then during the middle of the night go back to the places I took the things from very quietly put it back in the trash the things I don't want. If it's very big and impossible to quiet with I'll just throw it in one of the massive trash cans at my apartment complex and deal with my landlords biichen the next day. Always worth it for a treasure hunt :p

If it were me I would add a little spring-loaded vertical lip on the back of that lift gate so you can't push things back too far and then take a ratchet strap and hook it on there so you can lift it without it falling I just did one of those by hand yesterday it sucks dropped it twice

Hello Love your videos Missing your videos but scrap availability is down What are your thoughts on metal detecting and magnet fishing? See “the fisher” and “magnet junkie”. I know I keep bringing this up, but street scraping products are down. Magnet fishing and metal detecting will also help the environment. What are your thoughts? Have a blessed day.

Yeah I've got the magnets for it. The two magnets on the back of my truck that I put the snips on work great for magnet fishing

Please read this. It might be financhely beneficial . This was a great video and I enjoyed it very much. This was a great find and my congratulations. I just wish I could have been there to help . I buy up a lot of scrap but I do it a little bit differently. I break down and sell used parts. You got $15.00 from your shred. The 3 seizer jacks you thrower away were worth $60.00 at any flees market. Even if you dropped the price to $30.00, you lost money and the shred was still worth $15.00. The double receptacles boxes have 2, 20 amp receptacles worth $10.00 each. Almost any electrician would pay $20.00 per box and 3 in each stand. That is about $60.00 you lost on each stand . You cut some heavy short cables that were worth $50.00 each for battery cables. There were all kinds of little short make up cables worth $4 to 5.00 each. The lead screw with the round handle on top would bring at least $150.00 each at machine shops. That shit is expensive. Everyone had their own way of doing things. What works for one might not work for another. There were a dozen other things that I would have saved for parts. I was buying out a bunch of machinery from a factory that was closing. I watched 4 men stripping out copper. These wires were pulled from a 3-inch conduit. There were 3 strands of 3 phases wire number 8.0 gauge. The copper inside is about ¾ inch diameter. They are peeling off the insulation with a razor knife. I got on the internet. The wire was 1.2 pound per foot. 360 feet of wire at 1.2 pound per foot is 432 pound. #1 bright was $3.50 per pound. The wire was worth about $1,512.00. That sound pretty good?? The wire was selling for $19.50 per foot. That means the wire was worth $7,020.00. Any big electrical contractor would have bought it for $4,000.00 Those boys worked 3 hours in the hot sun and lose $3,000.00. It might have taken them a couple days to sell it but all they could see was money right now. It gets worse, for more than a week they stripped out over 30 of these long runs of wires. They worked there asses off and lost $50 to $60.000.

This was well thought out. I wish those numbers were easy to obtain

@@ScrapPalletMan The sales I usually make are about 1/4 new prices. I might get up to 1/2 price for some items, but considering it is almost all profit except labor. I admit I have storage containers full of parts I will never sell. I have a lot of phase electrical components worth thousands of dollars just sitting in storage. I just thought I would give you some suggestions that might be helpful. Being retired I have plenty of time on my hands. John Dickson.

Hi, Paul. To keep those old gas weed wacker engines from leaking oil like that again either put them in a five gallon bucket or as my wife suggested put that end in a plastic bag that you might have left over from a store. Either way it should help with keeping that oil from leaking into the bed of your truck. Definitely enjoyed the video. Take care of yourself Paul
