After the video was filmed, I took everything from the AC units to the scrapyard. I’d like to correct a few things. Firstly, the PCDs are categorized under TV and monitor boards, which are valued at $0.25/kg, instead of motherboards, which were $2.10/kg. Secondly, the copper pipes from the outdoor units, which have the reversing valve that is brass, categorize them as domestic copper. Leaving them as is would result in a price of $8.25/kg, rather than No. 2 copper, which is $9.40/kg. Thank you for watching once again, and I apologize for my mistakes. I’m learning every day!

You bought the air compressors and quoted a buy price and sell price on the scrap but I didn't see a buy price for the AC units if you didn't pay for them that's great profit compared to the air compressors and the way to go. Sorry if I missed the buy price. I just found your channel and have items to sell so I found your channel very informative and understand price change so keep up the good work

Good breakdown. Time lapse is way to go, otherwise it gets too long. We have a fast forward button ourselves. Honest breakdown at the end. Excellent info in these increasing hard times facing many of us. Keep up the good work. Many youtubers get too obsessed with talking tooooo much. Facts are what we come here for, not to be bored by personal opinions and fake stardom..

Nice video what tools and brand of tools do you reckonmend to us for scraping
@calowattsmindsetАй бұрын
Hey Dominic! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Great question, mate. You can start off with basic hand tools such as regular and flush-cut pliers, screwdrivers (flat blade and Phillips head), a shifter, and a set of Allen keys. Oh, and a hammer comes in handy when things don't come undone-you can smash it to pieces! Eventually, with all the money you save from scrapping, you can start looking into a grinder and an impact driver.

How much would you make if you sold the AC's as complete units?
@calowattsmindsetАй бұрын
Just selling the outdoor units to the scrapyards as is, 0.30c/kg for aircons, would've roughly been around $110.

u makie more money if u check if the motors are copper if it is take the copper out of the motors and compressors have a copper motor in there to get the copper out of it
@calowattsmindset18 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment! You can get copper out of compressors, but I personally think its bit of a time-waster, not to mention the mess they cause with oil. I'm going to make a completely separate video on compressors though mate so stay tuned!

Prices your getting mate are low you need to find a better scrapyard to sell to
@calowattsmindset7 күн бұрын
Yeah mate the prices change monthly at my local scrapyard. Some months are good, other months not so good. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for a small town that I live in.
