The board you pulled out of the slots with the gold fingers are finger boards go for over 4/lb. The board on the bottom that they slide into usually go as peripheral higher grade or backplane board maybe 2-2.50/lb up to 3/lb if backplane it is kinda hard to tell if it’s all one board or two on the bottom. On the finger cards ythere are removable chips that are raised on the boards that you can remove. You had your thumb on one of the chips. Those removable chips go fro about 7/lb. The last board you showed I would toss in with peripheral but it would be more considered low grade peripheral at around .75/lb. Reach out to me if you want more help I primarily deal in ewaste I’m probably 80% ewaste 20% metal.

@lwcentraltn34472 жыл бұрын
@@cuscrapping 10:11 I looked again I could see two of them going for telecom would possibly need to leave the removable ic chips to make this grade . The other two cards looks to be to much excess. High grade telecom is about 1 dollar more than finger card. All of my numbers and estimates on grades were from boardsort or cash for computer scrap. Local yards as you all know vary.

Just wanted to update you I’ve got a really good deal with one of my scrap yards. told him I wanted to start buying big industrial transformers and he said well are you interested in the smaller ones and I said of course that’s what I bring in every day broken down he showed me to fold bins of copper transformers they don’t keep the aluminum ones in there so they’re gonna work out a price and hopefully it makes sense for me!

I can get $300 a ton for clean short steel here in Australia, which is anything under a meter, so all the motor and capacitor/transformer metal goes in that.
@ProjectShopFl2 жыл бұрын
Nice thanks for sharing. You get paid for capacitors?
@goldmagnet2 жыл бұрын
@Project Shop FL copper ones yes, but aluminium ones they won't unless I had a few ton of them as it's not worth while just taking a few in now and then with there being way more steel to aluminium percentage so i put em aside to separate in my spare time otherwise they'd just end up in shred for 6 cents kg so im better off taking the time to get the heavy steel for 30 cents kg, and I live too far away from the main city where they would accept them.

@@goldmagnet I think we are thinking of 2 different products. You are saying capacitors I'm thinking of the steel or aluminum can filled with sticky oil that comes with the transformers and sometimes electric motors. No one buys them around me. 🎯Anything with aluminum windings just send it unless aluminum's paying a super high amount and I mean like over 60 cents a pound. The E-Waste is not as good as it used to be it's not worth to pull the tantalum capacitors even though it does pay five to 15 bucks a pound it just takes too many hundreds or thousands of them to get to a pound. Goldfingerboards right now are only paying a dollar to a dollar 25. And if it doesn't have gold on it it's considered a bad bored. Bad boards are only paying 8 to 25 cents a pound and cannot have excessive steel plastic or foreign material on it. I personally clean my bad boards because I feel like I get more I get the aluminum off any little bits of copper or brass.

Eager to see the massive transformer break down I can’t remember if you said they were copper or aluminum. I just went to one of my yards today and they’ve got six or seven industrial or commercial transformer sitting out back I took a file to him and three or four of them have copper coils none of them have those copper plates or copper bars solid copper bars that I could see but they have thick wire

If you could give me an estimate of what I should pay I mean it is coming from the scrap yard so I’m probably gonna have to pay a little bit more than what they paid for it but I believe they bring a different price than lights transformers

Are you gonna sell the copper and Steel back to them? If so see if they will do a % on the profit. If not usually they have a name tag with info on it and will have the weight. It depends on the TX but usually if you figure a 80/20 percentage on the steel and copper you can get an idea how much it would be worth processed. Some will be more or less so look them over and make sure the coils are big and don't have lots of spacers. I pay the same as the smaller TX. Usually I go off the price of #2 copper. If #2 is $3 per lb I will pay .30 or more depending on the situation. Say its 2.50 lb pay .25, if it's 2.75 pay .27. now buying from the yard you will have to step it up some. I would ask what they pay then ask what they get for it. Then if you are selling it all back to them tell them by selling to you they are gonna make money 3-4 times as opposed to 1. If they sell it off they make money once. If they sell it to you they make out on the first sale, 2 on the #2 copper, 3 on the prepared steel (If they buy it that way) and even 4 on the sheet steel housing. Hope this helped and good luck.
