Hey Tin Man!! You always have such great tips on how to maximize your profits and get every valuable piece of scrap you can, and what to look for! The magnet test is great. We totally understand why it would be important to "clean" the metal so it's not dirty with other metals. If we had our own piece of property and weren't living in Los Angeles and had a truck, we would totally start scrapping. Great video and thanks for sharing!! Much love!

Where do you take your stuff to get paid?

we have a scrap yard in town. They weigh the different metals and pay you based on type of metal and weight

For all of the time spent on micro scrapping for bits of copper and brass…I sure do wish he would take 30 seconds and secure that vise (I guess 2-3 min if he’s drilling new holes)… I suppose there are pros and cons to every KZbin channel…but in this case, seeing that vise wobble around every time Tin Man touches it…is the one con that annoys me to the point of not subscribing. I actually watch a lot of his videos and like all channels there are things I like, and things that bug me…but all in all I generally like the info and have a positive feeling about this channel and these videos…until (dun, DUN, DUNNN!) the vise happens🙄. Maybe I’m crazy but it’s hard to watch someone work against themselves in such an obvious way. When he is beating on something clamped in the vise and it’s just moving all around or when it’s slipping out of his hand when he’s trying to tighten it bc it’s constantly changing position…it’s pointless and possibly dangerous to even use a vise. I don’t mean to sound like a jerk, but it gives me anxiety and I can’t take him seriously. I keep hoping he will secure the thing, but then…it’s never secure. So I figured if I don’t say something…it’s never gonna change. So here it is Tin Man…lock ur damn vise to the table bro..and if you do, maybe I’ll subscribe. I’m sure I’m not the only one who is irritated beyond repair every time that wobbly ass vise is feature. Just sayin.

Stainless doesn't lack magnetic properties because it's "coated with nickel". Nickel is magnetic. Stainless is not magnetic mostly due to its 14% or higher Chromium content which alters the structure of the alloy. The chromium is also what makes it stainless. Also, I get that you're Tin Man, but the thing that annoys me most about the channel is when you call steel shred tin after proving that it's magnetic. Dude, tin is NOT magnetic. Just because you get the same price for it doesn't mean steel and tin are interchangeable terms. I like the channel but I thought you were an educator. Correct what you're teaching.

I am just telling people that the less magnetic or non-magnetic is worth a lot more than the magnetic stainless steel $0.77 instead of $0.15 a pound.

Stainless steel is 18 ct a pound.

I guess it depends on where you live and if you are willing to shop around.
