@ 2.54 minutes...that's call a "Stepper Motor", it has more than copper. If you take it apart, that middle rotor has neodymium magnet. But it's better to sell the whole thing because it has different usage. For one thing, it's a DC motor that produce electricity. You can fit that into a bike with LCD attach to it. You got self generate running light.

some of these might be repairable too, and the older ones are valuable because small presses can use them without spending a lot of recent toner cartridges.

Do you have an estimate on the $ value of scrap for the copy machine?
@74Dyenamo12 жыл бұрын
Out of curiousity, do you recycle the plastic at the same recycling centers as the metal? If so how much do they pay? I remember you saying in another video that the plastic gets recycled too. I think where I live they will accept your plastic but not pay you anything for it.
@mccunecp12 жыл бұрын
@lmvelazquez100 I"m a nerd lol and after watching your videos and other scraper videos mostly yours when I walk my dog I have tools with me like to day saw a tv took it a part on the spot pulled out the goodies and left the rest in the trash for the trash truck to pike up took me like 10 minutes lots of copper. as for the coppier the motors would be cool for a cnc system build. transformer it all depends and the lcd would be for a computer monitor or some thing for connectivity.

Hey mike, quick question. I was taking apart a large copier actually bigger than this and my boss at the tome told me to be careful because there was a spring in it. Did you come across this? Trying to figure out if its in every large copier. Thanks in advance.
@MiketheScrapper10 жыл бұрын
Rudegirl585 Not sure. I never came across a big spring b4. Small ones yes.

Mike, great video! I am doing this myself currently, 1 large machine and another smaller one. QUESTION: Do I have to worry about those "Lasers/Invisible Radiation" lasers inside? Or am I okay as long as it's not turned on or plugged in (obviously it's not.) Thank You.

Mike, you may want to avoid the toner drum. Did a small one about a year ago.and am still getting that nasty stuff everywhere. The wife may kill ya too. Had to buy mine an expensive necklace and she's still bitching about the mess.
