Gorgeous! I love the atmosphere of the rural landscape. Those machines are so awesome even at the end of their lives. I almost feel the soul flying away from this old guy - it must have been through a lot of hardship! Thanks for sharing! Greetings from Poland 🤝🤝

After my grandfather passed away I had a few acres of old equipment to clean up. Most we loaded ourselves. But 5 old Massey and IH combines were left. The scrap place sent a guy with a skid steer to load the combines. I laughed when I saw the little skid steer. It handled the like a Boss.
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
I tell you what. We've owned two different skid steers since 07. I'd be handicapped without one at this point. Handier than a pocket on a shirt.

A father started a construction business. It got pretty big. His kids kind of in the business. He went down to his gravel pit and some guys were there cutting up some old machinery. They said his son in law had sold it to them. SIL didnt own it of course. He drove them out of the pit,resumed running the business and sold it. Lock stock and barrel.

You've heard the one, about the monkey 🤬 the football?? Yup... Do it all the time, but usually with the skid steer... And something that out weighs it 4:1.... LOL.. Always hate seeing the old equipment go, but.... LMAO 🤣😂 always put the slow truck in the lead, otherwise they get lost🤣😂 Looks like it actually went pretty well 👍😎
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
Yeah I used to feel like the monkey but the older I get I'm starting to feel like the football. I had the same thought about the old machine but I didn't have the money to pay him what it was gonna bring in scrap price. Then it would've had to have money in parts and time and who knows where to get the parts cause it wasn't a cat. It made it pretty difficult to watch it get scrapped though when the old man said it would probably run with some new batteries.

How old was the dozer and what year was it how much did it way good interesting video thanks
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
It wasn't actually a dozer come to find out. It was an old tractor retrofitted with a blade and a cat winch. It weighed 34000. I don't know the year. I'm guessing early sixties.

from the dash controls and the 6-71 detroit diesel engine it was an Allis Chalmers HD15 produced from 1951-1955. shipping weight was 31k lbs

Ratchet binders are for steel tracks. It was likely the brake bands rusted on.

Why did they scrap it was it beyond repair?
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
I don't think it was beyond repair. The old man said it would run. I didn't have the money to spend to pay the scrap price on it so I didn't have any interest.
@keithrobinson13312 жыл бұрын
Didn’t look that bad to me I think I would have tried to get it to run 🤔🍻🍻👍🇺🇸

You might just have a board starting to come loose on that trailer. The dog looks like he approves of his new humans, in pride of place on the lap near the window.. Perhaps that old dozer would have got a decent price on Ebay 4 or 5 years ago......
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've got to find some hard wood somewhere. Last time I had a mobile unit come and saw up some pecan but I don't even know where anybody is that has a sawmill close anymore. It was a shame to just junk that old dozer. The guy said if we put some batteries in it it would probably run. Would've made a better video too.

More American iron and copper on its way to China. Wonder how long that thing sat there and why it was abandoned?
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
Yeah that is no doubt. We keep crushing these old cars too and I guess these new rigs have facial recognition to shut down when your facial expressions show fatigue. I can see where this crap is headed. Before you know it you'll be unable to drive until your social credit score is high enough. Parts for older vehicles will get hard to find and expensive. You might see this channel get western or Amish lol. The old man that had it was wheelchair bound but Nathan probably knows the story. I figured he would chime in on it.
@chargermopar2 жыл бұрын
@@davissons3801 It looks like you are awakened as well. I have had experienced trying to fix equipment with electronic problems. There are never schematics or software available to communicate with the on board microprocessors. pretty much everything I own is non computerized and easily fixed. many parts are standard items like bearings seals and the like. Getting old machines to strip down for parts can keep many others for years. Hopefully we don't end op with hand tools and horse and buggy!

Make sure it's not in gear sometimes the pressure plate likes to stick.
@kirkpalmer17092 жыл бұрын
Looks like an old Allis Chalmers. I hate seeing good old iron getting wasted. There are people out there who could use the parts off of it at least, or would love to restore it. They don't make this stuff anymore.
@davissons38012 жыл бұрын
it was. I get sentimental with the stuff at times but its not my call what to do with it. I could buy it for scrap cost but im not forking out three grand or so for the thing. I have enough junk at home as it is. Your right though. Its a shame.
