Hello scrappers and planet lovers. In this video, I will show you all the free copper, aluminum, tin, and other metals that are found in some large stereo equipment. I will show you how to identify and sort the metals in order to help maximize your profit and divert as much of the material away from the landfill as possible.

I love digging into these stereos. To people who are no longer using them for their intended purpose and are not infected with the scrapper virus, they are nothing but a giant obstacle.

I just stripped one of those wires. Down to the copper. I don’t have room for all the extra.✌️

If you scrap often such devices, it may be more profitable to actually desolder those transistors from the big heatsink and put them on the site that starts with e and ends in bay. There's people that repair such amplifiers and need those parts. Yeah, the tab may be copper or plated steel, and the actual die is connected to that copper using bonding wires that are made of gold or gold-alloy wire. The transformers can also be worth some money (more than if you'd pull out the copper out of it) , lots of people make hobby amplifiers or adjustable linear power supplies and need such transformers.

Yeah, I have thought of that, just showing other scrappers what there is on some of the items we use each day. Thanks for the tip and comment. Stay well and happy scrapping. Yes, would probably get more money on ebay

Yeah, unfortunately there are some scrapyards that do offer less price for items that are worth a lot more. luckily here there are a number of scrapyards so if you shop around, you can usually get a better price somewhere else. You may not have that luxury. Thanks again for watching. Stay well and happy scrapping

Yes you can make more money taking them apart.

It really is crazy the difference in profit taking it apart opposed to bringing it in whole for ewaste price.

What are those big round things that are wrapped? I know they are aluminum. Sometimes if they are big I will take them apart. Also do you know what the material is inside?✌️

No, unfortunately you need a lot to make it worth while. Also since I am in Canada it is harder to get the necessary chemicals.

I did a whole box of them yesterday by drilling out the rivets. There's also copper coated steel in them, so always test with a magnet.

The larger capacitors from microwaves can have a charge, but I have never been shock since I touch the connectors first with rubberized handled pliers before tear down.
