I have used sheet protectors inside notebooks with an 8-1/2 x 11 magnetic sheet and cardboard inside to store dies and dies with matching stamps. This system has worked well for me to find everything easily. Each notebook has a theme like rectangles and squares or circles and oblongs. On the back of each sheet protector I keep card ideas and die info. Thanks for all your great ideas!

I have 1 more idea. Make a copy of the set of dies to fit in the box or sleeve that stores the stamp set. The dies could be filed with the other dies & you can see what dies you have to use with the stamp set when you get out the stamp set. You could slide it in the pocket behind the box paper label so it faces inward. Then it is with the stamp set but not an extra paper to keep track of.

I have drawn around my dies for several years but I use a black marker. It reflects the light differently so it shows up very well and doesn't rub off. Excellant ideas to make copies.

Thanks for the great ideas! Consider die cutting on scrap paper and putting in a 3 ring binder by category. I stamp new sets on scrap paper also by category in the same binder. Inventory samples of embossing colors and washi tape also in binder. A separate ring has embossed papers with size and a number for easy pulling from basket. Now I know exactly what I have to create a new card. Always enjoy your videos!

I also always photocopy the die set as soon as it arrives, in its original packaging so I know how everything fitted, and I write the # of pieces on that photocopy too. (Easy to miss some of the smaller pieces that might be inset into a bigger piece.) This photocopy has saved my bacon many times, esp when I’m die-cutting several sets of, say, flowers and foliage, often several on the one pass-through. Easy to mix them up!

I thought about doing an inventory of stamps and keeping them in a notebook but the task of stamping them all out on pages was daunting, so I never did it. I never thought about photocopying them, or my dies, numbering them and filing them by theme. After that, storing the dies and stamps numerically makes things so easy! Great ideas presented here. TFS!

Great tips Anna! I’m having a terrible time trying to find specific words and specific dies. I’m thinking to categorize everything… stamps and die sets, stamps and punch sets, stand alone dies, shapes, stand alone stamps. It really slows me down while card making and it’s super frustrating. Thank you for this video and all of your videos. I always find them inspiring and informative. Thank you for always sharing❤ Oh sorry… watching from Winnipeg😊

I use notebooks for all of my stamps and dies. I have my stamps sorted by category but each stamp is assigned a number. I add that number on the copied image in the notebook and I use my label maker to put the corresponding number on the stamp. My stand alone dies are also numbered the same way my stamps are. My hot foil plates are done the same way but I started at 1000. I do keep corresponding dies with the stamps. It’s very easy to flip through my notebooks to look for a stamp or die. If I have stamps with a lot of sentiments it usually gets copied and placed in the sentiments section as well. One of these days I’m hoping to add them to Air Table so I can do away with the notebooks but for now it works very well for me.

Maybe try photo copy, Cut, & Paste?? This MAY be faster for the here & now, but I think I'm going to cut apart my clear stamps and segregate each into their separate categories. When I go looking for that "cute lil snail" I don't want to have to search every nature, faerie, gnome, & cartoon set I own to find it!! It'll be in a subcategory labeled "No Legs" in with other "Fauna".

I store my dies with coordinating stamps in SU cases - even non-SU stamps in extra blank cases SU sells. I store them in stamp-n-storage shelves, and sort by category - C = Christmas, CB = Christmas Bundle, S= Sentiments ONLY, etc. The notebook idea didn't work for me (couldn't find the notebook, forgot to update, etc) but Evernote is easier for me. (Bev Adams has an awesome way to share SU products, current and retired). For non-SU dies and stamps, which I collected for years before joining SU, I either scanned in the packaging label(past) or copy an image of the set from an online ad and insert it into my note. The genius tip I got from your video is about the shapes dies included with other dies. THANK YOU!!!

Great tips as always! One thing I have used to trace around the dies on the magnetic sheet is a correction fluid pen. Allow the fluid to dry completely before removing them from the sheet. I keep my dies on adhesive backed magnetic sheets in the stamp cases if they fit. If they don’t fit in the stamp case I keep them in the original envelopes and store them in a basket. I love you idea of the color dots to signify dies or punches. As well as the photo copied die sheets in a binder. ❤

Great ideas, Anna - tracing the dies onto the insert card is brilliant! Personally, I'm way too lazy to make a notebook (I already have too many stamp sets!). I used to keep them in alphabetical order because I could remember the names pretty well (before I got too many stamp sets!). Currently they're divided into sections (words/phrases, birthday, sympathy, Christmas, other holidays, and general) AND each section is alphabetical. When I have a stamp set that fits best into one category but there's one stamp that belongs in a different category, I list the stamp set name in a "notebook" (it's a spreadsheet so I can reorganize it as needed) under the category for the one stamp. I print the list to keep it really handy, but I can also just look at the spreadsheet when I'm looking for something specific.

hi! i have stampin up product and the way i organize them is : on the back of the stamp case with a label maker i put the name of the die or the punch. on the diecut envelope with a label maker i put the stamp set name. i do have diecuts that i did not get the stamps with so i still put the name of the stamp and then i put *i do not have it. that way, i know there is a stamp out there should i want to try and buy it in the future. i keep my stampin up stamps in alphabetical order and the die cuts also in alphabetical order. it's actually gives you practice on learning the names of all the stamps! lol i do take the time to photocopy the stamp case insert and put that in my reference binder. i have sooooo many stamps that it's easier for me to flip through the index pictures to find what will work. usually their is more then one option and i pull out those stamps. if you make an index, and you have your own photocopier, be sure to enlarge the picture to the stamps actual size. this is the best advice i received! then you know the actual size when you are flipping through! i do like your suggestions. with the diecuts that i seem to use all of the time, i'm thinking of the large magnet sheet you have on the side of your paper cubes. thx thx!

I would love some tips for when you buy dies individually. I have recently been purchasing various dies from TEMU or the dollar tree store many of which are individual or only a few pieces total. I also have been buying stamps this way they don’t have fancy cases and only simple plastic envelopes that definitely don’t hold up to repeated opening, removing and replacing.
@lesliebencivenga78389 ай бұрын
Most of my stamps and dies are also from non-Stampin Up companies so I don't have too many that are in cases like that either. I ordered (I think from Amazon) sets of sturdier plastic envelopes with and without magnet sheets. Die sets go on the magnets and into the envelope, stamp sets go in without the magnet. For some of the individual small dies I have accumulated I bought a plastic binder with pages inside that have varied pocket sizes and flaps on the pockets. I put the dies in there and the flaps keep them from falling out. That binder was either from Amazon or maybe Temu.

I personally can’t imagine getting maximum use from my nesting shape dies if I stored them in envelopes. I have filled two large frames with magnets in my wall near my work table. I can look over at it & get inspiration. By doing this I have found I use far less printed paper which was a huge goal. Storage issues & expense with printed paper so I lean towards shapes, dies, stencils & different medians/distress mica sprays/lunar paste, etc.

I seem to buy them every time I'm out at the craft store, when they're on sale, and even at the dollar store. I've been keeping track of all my craft supplies for 35+ years in a 3 ring "inventory" binder. (I'm anal and a Virgo) I scan every sheet of dies, templates, texture embossing plates and stamps that I acquire. I write on that page the date, brand, name, number,... relevant info. I have page swatches of markers, list of tools by craft, inks, pads, embossing powders, watercolors... what is in the various plastic totes and 13x13 Iris cases... The original binder got so stuffed that I've broken it down into several binders. Even my old wood 700+ mount stamps are scanned and inventoried(and need to be purged.) Sometimes I think I have more fun organizing than doing the actual craft. Lol. My beads and ribbons are on display not noted. I just started adding die sets to 8x5 magnet sheets, put into plastic envelopes and stored in a plastic card box. The most used shapes I display on a framed dollar store foam poster board covered with magnet sheets. I get 3- 15x8 sheets per pkg at HD as vent covers for 7.99US. Easy to cut but sturdy and strong. I'm working on better furniture and shelving to organize my many totes and binders. Thank you! Susan in CO
