Scrappy Monster Zip Bag

These adorable "monster" zippered bags are so quick and fun to make! I hope you give then a try, so that you can gift them to your favorite kid!
You'll need:
Various embellishments, such as Ric-Rac, Lace, ribbons, yarn, etc.
Zipper (I used a 12" zipper for this)
2 Round items to trace for the eyes, one large, one smaller
Keychain - if desired
Tab - if using keychain - I used RicRac
Heat N Bond Lite for eyes
Pellon fusible 987f
Fabrics for first tutorial were cut at 5.5" x 3" and 5.5" x 4", added zip, then used a piece approximately 5.5" x 6.75" (can cut down if too long)

Yes, quite a few people mentioned using them for Halloween for the grandchildren or simply for the children that stop by their homes, since they don't get a lot of kids trick or treating. I also thought of making some for the grandchildren for going back to school, but making it into a pencil case sized zipper bag.

That’s a great idea! In the neighborhood we’re in, I would have to make about 150 of them, so I might not do it, lol! But, I think you’re ontosomething there. Even if you just made them for the kids that they knew personally, whether it’s family or friends, I’m sure they’d love them! They’d be able to eat their candy and then have something that they could use. Besides that, you’d have the fun of making and creating all different kinds of faces on the bags.

Isn't there a change that the needle of your sewing machine breaks when you're sewing over the hard part of the zipper? That would be my only concern :)

Hi! There really isn't much of a chance of your needle breaking, since these aren't metal zippers, they're nylon. Then, if you notice around 11:45 into the video, I'm placing the zipper midway across, so there are no metal ends near where we are sewing. Hope this helps!

Yikes... other than i how I made this, I'm not sure. I have other small bag videos that have linings, but this was made to be an easy zippered bag tutorial, so I didn't really focus on the lining so much.
